This is why my goal is to become ASE certified in all areas. Small engine, car mechanic, diesel, semi truck, marine, and industrial. The rush of putting these big behemoths together on a deadline can't be matched. And I'm a restoration mechanic as it is
Hi guys! Probably most of you don't know that the first giant truck was build in Romania during comunist period on Ceausescu President's order. He wanted a 100 ton truck for the mines in Tg Jiu area. The truck was enginered in 10 years and had a diesel engine and on rear axle 2 electric engines runed by Electroputere Craiova Romania. Check out DAC 120E . Have a nice day !
Uhm, You seem to forgot that there was a diesel electric dump truck in USA produced before WWII, and in 1956 Dart broke the 100 ton haul truck size, and in 1967 they did 120 ton truck. DAC made a 90 ton truck in 1988, so being first is a far overstatement.
RakinBill on one of ours 773e ecu was accidently remapped, something going wrong on restoration area- one word now we got extremely powerful truck, that climb on 1-2 gear higher than new was! One gearbox was burned, but now its ok! That got maybe 900-1000 hp now, on stock iron.
Hmmmmm nor Cummins KTTA19 nor Caterpillar C15 and C18 engines. It's a Caterpillar V12 engine C32 same as swapped in D11R Caterpillar Track Type Tractor replaced 3508 V8 engine. C32 is more economical and reliable Acert engine. We rebuilt that one in power generation rating 1000 KVA @ 50 Hertz
$30K ???? Try AT LEAST ten times that much !! Cat parts & service are ridiculously expensive. It would not surprise me if this entire rebuild was over $400K.
What is the song or Rock music in the background called at 0:25 I am just curious, it’s sounds really cool, I could not found it in the Description. Cool Giant Dump Truck 👍🏼
