Our throwback to January 2021!!! Russell needed that ice button more than I knew!!! #catmanjohn #russellthecat #hunger4words #talkingcat #cat #catsofinstagram #cat #aiclearner #smartcat
When we talk about communication, we talk about expressive language(talking) and receptive language(listening and comprehending talking). Cats have excellent receptive language, but haven't been given true opportunities for expressive language. It's interesting to see how he puts sentences together. Pretty literal. Instead of asking for catnip he states there is no catnip left. I thought it was cool.
I love this boy. It makes you wonder how many times our cats are actually thinking 🤔 the words they want to say but can't talk. Whomever invented this button system was a genius. My cats often show me what they want. Animals are so much smarter and intuitive then we can imagine.
Russ catching his mouseys was so adorable. I love watching him learn to communicate like this 🖤 My heart melts when I get to give belly rubs to the softest cat spot
I wait for my daily dose of Russ... I am especially happy when you post longer videos :D I think Russ wanted to snuggle with his soft mousey like kids like to take their toys everywhere. He has an adorable meow.
I am so happy to discover another button-talkimg channel! I find them all so interesting. Not a criticism but your video would be easier on the eyes if you turned your phone horizontally to record. It makes the viewing area much larger. I will watch regardless though. Thanks for sharing!
Seriously extraordinary! I doubt it will be long until Russ starts having very long conversations. Thank you so much for sharing! About a decade or so ago there was a Labrador from somewhere in Montana that could do maths. Seriously A.M.A.Z.I.N.G to witness! He communicated with barks for the answer. He could do simple multiplication, addition and subtraction. We’ve always underestimated animals and I’m glad we finally have a way to teach language and communication to our furbabies. Much love and positive vibes from Montana. ✨💖✨
First of all,, I am super impressed at how well you have taught Russell,, and impressed that Dylan is participating. Which is wonderful. I have indoor cats, and have learned much about them, and thanks to you, I am learning more! In my opinion and past experience (e.g. I had to be away for a 10 day hospital stay, years ago, and one of my cats would not trust me for quite a while after that, because someone mistreated him while I was away), Some intelligent cats get their feelings hurt easily, and a cat as intelligent as Russell, will remember negative experiences.. He loves you so much, you are his person. (Dylan isn't his 1st choice....sorry but true). Now Russell is pressing buttons as if to say, "forget it, you don't really care what I need or want". 😾😿
0:22 Russell: "I said what I said!" Lol Also I am amazed at how long you can hold ice in your hand for Russell. My fingers feel frostbitten just watching!
Yeah. We really aren't different than other animals except for our intelligence. That's what makes all the difference. When a bear invents electricity or a dog builds a city, then we will be in trouble, lol.
@@weatheredinsomniac ohh, thanks! I guess I got confused. It's dated 11 months ago but published 2 days ago. I guess what I'm wondering is if he abuses the button like a crack head, lol
It must be so rewarding looking back to those old videos. All the learning journey not only for Russel, but also for you (and also Dylan). You guys are amazing! Truly inspired us 🤩
I love this, I'VE decided to attempt to try with my dog & CAT. I'M RETIRED &CAN SPEND ALOT OF TIME TEACHING THEM. MY DOG IS A SERVICE DOG & SUPER INTELLIGENT.. MY CAT KNOWS TO RING A BELL IF SHE WANTS IN OR OUR OF THE HOUSE. QUESTION. WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THESE?
Just amazing! You guys🐱👫...I 💘 it! I wonder if my cats could learn? I noticed you have other cats, is Russell the only one who uses the buttons ? The others aren’t interested? Edit; I just saw you said they didn’t stick to it...
I love watching russel talk. I wish I had known about these but tens with a male cat I had years ago. He was so intelligent he would scare me. I'm sure he would have learned to speak with buttons.
My little girl Hanna is scary smart, too. I bought the starter button pack about 10 days ago, but have not opened it yet. I'm scared now to find out exactly how smart she is! It's hard enough to leave home with her eyes doing the talking. If she actually SAID "mama don't go", I'd never be able to leave the house again. Any suggestions from Russell or other button users? 😕 Thanks in advance! P.S. Hanna turned 10 on 11/I! 🎂 🐈⬛😻
I was thinking if this was my house and what I would add. You need buttons for Dylan, the other cats, and the word yes! That way he can refer to everyone he lives with. Like instead of guessing he didnt want Libby in the box, he could learn "No Libby" or "Libby No". Im debating on getting these but Im not sure I have it in me. Im not very mobile. PS. I wrote mid-video and heard Dylan via button as soon as I finished my comment. 😄
I am SO in love with Russell. He’s so lovable and so smart! I love all your sweet beautiful babies. Russ sure loves his mama and that just warms my heart. ❤
I would love to learn how to train my kitten… I wouldn’t know where to start and how to do this. If you could do an online class, I would buy it for sure!
Do you get a commission if we buy something through the links on your page? I think my daughter is going to help me get the buttons so I don't have to wait 2 more months. She said her only requirement would be that I must video our training sessions. I want to make sure she uses your links if it will help you out!
Wonderful for the cat to communicate with his servants more effectively. Am terrified of entering this new stage, no more pretending not to understand and ignoring all the demands. On call 24/7
I don’t know if we have a true origin story but I know it started in Florida he’d get all excited when ice cubes fell out of the fridge and eventually we started petting him with it😹
Position is my assumption. They all (button trainers) seem to use a placement map. So it looks like the words are always in the same place relative to each other. (Catnip is here. Play is there. Etc.)
When you watch this compilation and you know exactly what button he's goung to press based on how the video started 😭 I've been watching only Russel recently
