Very nice to see the comparison. I was definitely not aware of all the combinations available. LUV these visits with Cat that you're giving us. Thanks a bunch, Tom.
Case has the same drive motors, made in Italy. Sprokets are reversible. I'm just not to warm and fuzzy about all those hoses exposed to rocks and any large branches you might snag.
All the mtls are a actually ASV track systems because once upon a time, before terex owned ASV, Cat did so theoretically cats track loaders undercarriages are based off ASV
Hi there. I purchased a CAT 299d2 xhp with the hm418 mulcher head. I have everything hooked up but cant figure out how to open or shut the front door on the mulcher head. the head runs off the electric pig tale and im just not figuring out what controls operate it. I like your videos a lot and figured id see if you know a solution to my problem. thanks
I heard the metal tracks aren't so good , they say they don't clean themselves out well when using in mud or anything that stick s between the track bars
@Dirt Ninja I picked up a 259d really like it but it has the narrow tracks feels like if it sprinkles ill sink! I want to get some wider tracks will they go right on or do i need to get something else also for them to work
Hope this helps: The Triple Flange Idlers and 400 mm (15.7 in) track configuration is best suited for customers that require improved track engagement due to working in challenging terrain that may contain high concentrations of protruding objects (such as boulders, stumps, etc.) and/or due to the use of heavy work tools, working on slopes and/or working near transitions, especially while carrying loads.
