Davy has designed such a wonderful garden. I hope he comes back again soon. Love all the work KIrsty and her helpers are achieving in Mummy's special garden. I love the climbing plants. I see that you have hostas. Lovely shade plants but I also know that you have deer. Here on Vancouver Island our deer absolutely love to munch on hostas so we only plant them in places where the deer can't get at them.

7 weeks ago, my partner of almost 15 years suffered a life altering brain aneurysm and we are facing a very long road to recovery. One night, about 6 weeks ago, it was the early hours of the morning and unable to sleep through worry and dispair, I found myself falling down a rabbit hole on RU-vid, in an attempt to loose myself for a while. Which lead me to Anna and Phillips wonderful channel 'How to renovate a chateau...' which then luckily lead me to the wonders of Lalande and all the amazing, kind, charasmatic, talented people that have resided there over the course of the Chateau Diaries. This channel, Stephanie and all the others (Dan very much reminds me of my partner, similar in age and the same humour and mannerisms too which brings me joy in dark times) involved have been such a welcome and needed form of escapism for myself during the most horrific time I could have ever imagined, and I can honestly say I don't know how I would have coped without your wonderful videos. For the last six weeks, any of my spare time has been spent watching the videos right from the start and each and every one of you will never ever know how much you help so many people all around the world find a place of peace for the time your on our screens. Thank you for sharing the chateau with us. ❤️

Jerusalem artichokes are great sliced raw in salads and add a bit of crunch, like water chestnuts. Beautiful shot of first mornings' light, Steph. And so lovely to see a tractor driver in pink silk pyjamas. Lovely to, to see Aumaurys' dad out and about helping with the irrigation so early in the morn. I'm waiting to see more of your chef who made the shrimps head soup, and who's salad is inspiring me today. Honestly, The Chateau Diaries exposes us to such a variety of cool people!

I am happy to see there is a watering system for the first 2 years. Phillip's parents must be camera shy, that is okay. They are private like the illusive Nick.

Stephanie really does have the best taste. I have to say, I liked the area behind the chapel in it's natural state. Standing on the edge of the beautiful woods. Maybe just a sea of bluebells or natural wildflowes in amongst the grass at the most. Majestic buildings speak for themselves. I bet Dan would agree with me...Lol !

Okay few questions. nagging really. There is that other bench along the road by the wall, you had in the shot when you talked to nick about the woods. Couldnt you move that to your resting eating picnic nook in the la anglaise garden. So you have two seaters. i say great going wild . thumbs up. enjoy. love it for you.
