I first saw her in 99. She was so shy she could barely look up at the audience - I can't believe how confident she looks in this video!

This is one of my ALL TIME favorite songs to sing to (and listen to of course!), her voice is so soothing! It's like watching thick honey roll down rough tree bark...ahhhh sweetness. I love her.

2006 was the year of the cat power.

I was introduced to Cat Power while I played music in Athens. I hear she's getting sober, I hope I can follow the same path. I remember having a dance party with her, her friend and Nick Nickerson.

Knowing her struggle with alcohol addiction.. This powerful song stays in my mind. I think of her often.

Saw her live in Macau, she killed it! But most memorable was when we were sitting in a quite corner of a bar after the concert watching the English Premier League. And she walks up to us and says, mind if I join you? My God, what an evening it turned out to be. So memorable

Wow, it's been 20 years since I first went and bought a Cat Power CD release after reading an interview with Chan Marshall. I was immediately entranced by her soulful delivery. She's one of our true American treasures of the 20th and 21st centuries. Completely unpretentious. Chan is so candid and spontaneous in every detail of her existence that I don't think she could be pretentious even if she tried. Still, there are two distinct Chan's. Cat Power is her alter ego, almost the polar opposite of her often fidgeting, neurotic at times, and searching for words finding them, personality we see in interviews. Maybe this is just what I personally am aware of because I happen to be spontaneous neurotic person, who is way more comfortable and successful at playing guitar and singing than trying to make a conversation work. lol

She's finally getting the proper attention. Beautiful music.

I guess that i'm in love with this woman, seriously. She's the kind of person that u can marry with hearing her voice only. She sings so emotional and makes me want to know her better. shes melancholia synonym, love her!

cat power has been around for a while and being someone that predominantly listens to metal and hardcore she has always been my guilty pleasure.
