Cat Power - What's In My Bag? 

That up there is a 20 year vet, the Queen of Indie Rock, she's been on the grind since before some of you were born. And she looks beautiful still. Respect.

Screw it - she can wear her hair however the hell she wants. She can smoke as many cigs as she wants. She can crack bad jokes. I don't care. She's an amazing artist who continues to throw listeners for the best types of loops with each release.

When my dad passed away in September last year I listened to John Coltranes Crescent over and over- I was just numb with grief but I tell you this beautiful music pulled me through

One admirable feature of Chan Marshall is she has never presented herself as any sort of ego or glamour. So pop comments about her looks or perceived eccentric behaviour are redundant. as for "what happened to her" , the answer is she made better and better music and you would be rolling shit uphill to find a more dynamic musical existence than her.

I love her so much. I unknowingly stood next to her backstage while Girls were performing at the Matador 21 show. She said "WHOOOOO!" in a high pitched voice after every song they performed. Anyway, I got myself kicked out by a security guard for helping myself to one the bands' many refreshments and she performed later that night. Such an angelic voice, apologizing to the crowd after nearly every lyric. Such a voice and a vision.

she is a spun out artist, if your gonna make art you have to live on the edge. I bet when she is talking, her mind is racing and she finds it hard to put all she feels and thinks into words. I love this woman

it's like the third time somebody gets a copy of that soundtrack without seeing the movie, the movie is about a guy who murder his boss and gets stuck in the elevator while escaping, and while he is stuck, a couple of bonny and clyde-wannabes steal his car and go out to commit bizarre crimes against rich people, I know is french, old and have a moody jazz soundtrack but it doesn't mean is boring or melodramatic

Huge fan of CP and never knew until today that she did a What’s in my bag? Her choosing Crescent doesn’t surprise me at all, because she’s a true artist. That’s not a term we can use lightly these days. She should be 10 times bigger than Adele but the masses like safe music I suppose.
