I was 7yesrs old when this came out 23 years ago. And this show was ALWAYS in the back of my mind, i always loved "whatever this show was named". Now 23 years later, at 30 years old, i finally rediscover the name of A Kitty BoBo. And Discorver this amazing vibe of a soundtrack. I barely even remember the year 2001 and this sound just beings me back somehow. Thanks Megan Dun and thank YOU Cat's Eye.
How did I just stumbled across to a masterpiece?? World needs more music and album like this that 'destroy' songs into pieces and reunited em 'loosely' with absalutely great touches and details, reminds me of Donuts from J dilla!
Also yeah that interlude from 24:43 , I felt like it was a perfect sample clip to use in the show hahaha and glad to see is used as an interlude, is perfect yo!
This album is beautiful and it matches the early 2000s urban vibe of a kitty bobo show perfectly. Even better, you did it by remixing a bunch of songs and samples which i love. If u plan on making a sequel to this album, i could share u some songs that i think you could remix or sample
Got this in my recommended feed (likely due to repeated watches of the Kitty Bobo pilot lol) and I gotta say... WOW, the vibes are immaculate! Absolutely matches the energy of the show, as well as forming its own identity that stands well on its own. Basically the perfect tribute to my favorite cartoon pilot ever! P.S. Looking at the cover art while listening to "Love Me Now" just evokes such a perfect nostalgic feeling. The image and the beat work absolutely perfectly together!
Kitty DoNo (Donuts), I love your work and occasionally tune in to your beats and WIPs. Makes me work on my own beats sometimes too, hope I can use a beat for a next project! :)
incredibly late but i was NOT expecting quaker oats at the end. prs is my favourite composer and im incredibly happy of seeing him on other proyects, insanely cool and great album
You the only other MF that uses the 303 exclusively still. Solidarity 💯 my dude. The only way mine leaves me is in a casket or, it blows up. I was hooked after I could hear the “lo-fi” button in beat 1. Beautiful work.
only beat use a sample recorded in lo-fi mode is the last one, actually. intro of the first beat uses the isolator and the rest of the beat uses vinyl sim compression
called cats eye bc he has an eye for thoses samples been watching your channel since a bit ago and it just baffles me how good you are, keep up the amazing work! love this
@@XwX1001 I know! Definitely was a tragedy, especially since it was one of those kids vote scenarios, so KND naturally would have an advantage for kids choice
As a kid, I'd like KND more for the hijinks and their 2x4 tech. My sister was older and preferred shows like hey Arnold and sheep in the city cause of its setting
I really have no words on how good this is. End credit and the follow up track are asboulte banger that really empthize a copycat type of nostalgia from a differnt era of life. :)
The boards of canada sample at the end earns my full respect, I hope this album gets picked up by the algorithm continuously and keeps getting spread edit: PRS not BOC, i'm a dummy lol
Hey man I recently found your channel as I also want to make music and honestly you’re so inspiring and saving my mind from hard times. Thank you for your music!
This channel is a hidden gem, my goodness. Keep up the great work. These beats are actually gas. (EDIT: Wait... are those drums on White Russian from Chamber of Reflection by Mac DeMarco? I could be totally wrong, but they sound a lot like them.)
Holy shit, this is tight asf 🔥 what kind of distortion effects do you use, if you use any at all? I feel like those kinds of effects kind of give it a level of nostalgia imo
everything was done on a Boss SP-303 which distorts the samples in a number of ways. since there's (somewhat annoyingly) no speed control option on the 303 you have to change the pitch and tempo independently of each other. the pitch control cuts out most of the highs and gives a slight reverb to the sample and the time stretching gives that warble-y rolling effect which some people call the "Madlib bass wobble". I think almost every beat here was tracked out with the 303's Vinyl Sim compression all the way up, though some of them needed it reduced. I also like to sample my drums on the 303's "long" setting on for that bit of extra crunch to the snares.

How’d you get into making beats man? Would love to follow your footsteps. Thinking about buying a computer and FL studio but it feels like your stuff is analog which is dope as hell. Where’d you find MPC and all these dope machines for sale? Feels like it would take forever to set up and get good w this stuff. You’re an inspiration!
I hope I could do something similar with The Modifyers, which really deserves a second chance along with A Kitty Bobo Show. Your music is fantastic! Kitty Bobo is so cool!!!
I already commented like 4 months ago, but “love me now” is such a good track that would go perfectly with something like the ok ko outro with the kitty bobo characters as paper cutouts near the beach or something irl
Crazy Question, but do you know if this music would be okay to use in a youtube video without suffering from any copyright claims? Im not sure if the originial score would be copyrighted or yours. Amazing work though!
Im sad this show never saw the light of day 😢 it would now make a good youtube series or netflix show. Hell lets even start a kickstarter for it. However I heard now they are making a comic about it for the unreleased epi 2
these beats are actually from may through august of last year, im only just now uploading them to youtube. i have more recent beats on my soundcloud and im still working on more.
Damn just about every track on this is incredible. I'm seriously glad I found this channel I also want to know what the use case/license is for your music? I'd love to use them for things like bumps and edits on my channel with proper credit of course.
Oh! I clicked this cause I know of a Japanese punk band by the name cats eye and was wonder how there was a release I'd never heard of lol Not what I was expecting, but it's great! Hope your day is good.
