Hardest thing I have ever had to do was to ask for help . Once I did, the flood gates opened and was blessed ten fold. I now help those that helped me with my own knowledge and abilities. (can't cook but can shovel snow) It's never ending if we just ask and pay it forward!!
My gosh Aria is the cutest thing in the world. I have really enjoyed watching her and Emma grow up. Who else has been here from the beginning and got to watch them from the time they were born?
I really wish I could have..this is the first time I've seen a video from this family..will follow from here on out tho..I absolutely idol this family!..
This man is an incredible father. His teaching is clearly good, and he's teaching his girls when they're young all about this way of life. I can't compliment him enough for this. You are a fantastic father and a good role model for anyone who intends to follow in your footsteps one day.
Robert, I could not agree more the lesson you gave with the girls. About knowing what meat is, when you understand what meat is, you understand what life is. And when you understand what life is you respect it! 100% on target.
@@squirrelgunsmith1131 and my dad taught me how to hunt it was part of the teaching, which is the point I was taking from Rob, It's not all one lesson man, and people learn respect for life in a number of places not just their parents.
you just brought tears to my eyes. I miss the family I had, We had a small farm and my mom was the best cook, We raised our food , we all learned to help with the chores. I was chosen to milk to cow every morning. I still hate plucking chickens, that is why I raise rabbits, much easier to clean. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
I watched this video over and over again and I felt exactly the same way. I do miss my Dad, we use to go hunting, fishing and a bit of farming too. Do you have images of when you use to milk the cows? I would be glad to know more about your farming skills too.
We never had a cow but I raised a couple hogs. Our neighbor had 3 little kids and a cow. They paid me 10 cents a day to milk their cow. All of us kids (4 boys) did most of the garden chores.
Just watched this video while looking for squirrel hunting/cooking tips. I didn't expect to end up watching such a wholesome video with touching messages and values. Thanks for sharing you and your family's story with us!
Never underestimate the impact you have being a positive influence on RU-vid. Great father and a motivation to others. GOD bless rob and I wish you a great 2021.
@@edmartin875 Yep same here… But when we did have a salad it was a jumbo salad with ham, turkey, cucumbers cherry tomatoes, sliced boiled eggs, grated cheese, croutons, and always with moms homemade ranch dressing… Now I’m craving a good salad Lol…🥗🍴
My heart is full to see you teaching your daughter the safety of hunting and fishing. That little Aria is a pearl, so rare and precious. Thank you deermeat for sharing your family life with me and the world.
For reals, looking at how he is with his family just made me sad about how shit my father is. Wish I had a father figure I could actually look up to instead of having one that I despise.
Hopefully that’s true. I have the greatest dad in the world but so far I’ve been pretty disappointing. I plan on turning that around and making him proud though :)
No they are going to be pushed out of society and most likely end up in an asylum, who the hell teaches a child to harm and kill any animal unless they want them to be psychopaths. God bless America, sure needs it with people like this. Get this man a straight jacket
@@carolined5923 you say god bless but If you knew the first thing about god you would know he made animals to be respected, hunted, and eaten by human, get facts straight and come again, god bless and have a wonderful day
How I'm gonna raise both my little girls gonna know how to do most of this even if there dad is learning a little bit before them but I'm gonna teach them
The Fact Is Faith Hope Love Stand Firm Put The Lord ❤️ in Every Areas 1st Which He does His family do the same ,The Rest of the World. Is Opposite of Mathews 5: 7-11& 6:30-33👈❤️🎺🙏😎⚖️❄️
I just saw this episode and brought tears to my eyes, it brought me back when I was little eating dinner with my parents on the table, praying to God and enjoying being together.
I see why you are so foundationally well put together inside. The last few seconds of your mom speaking says it all! May the Lord continue to bless your family!
I think this is one of my favorite videos you’ve ever made. This is exactly how I grew up. I remember the sound of the pressure cooker growing up. This really makes my heart happy.
Robert it’s good to see you in table with your mum and you children, it’s very good not to forget the sacrifices done all the parents for their children, all the best for 2021 🍻
Anyone else laugh at Robert hightailing it out of the kitchen, after scaring his mom? He was waiting for that spatula to come! I grew up in a home with 2 indian parents and every meal was home cooked! We knew what happened when you horsed around while mom or dad was cookin’!
I got a heart and a reply?! This new year is gonna be good! Now I just have to learn how to fish and hunt so that meeting the DMFD crew seems a little less like a dream!
Well I like the way you teach you’re children little girls how to eat to survive and how to forage for food and survival skills❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹p.s you’re daughters are very cute
Awesome video. I love how you get your children involved and teach them where their food comes from. I love how you and your mother interact. You have a beautiful family. Much love to you and yours.
I love your show . You teach your children about hunting and how to always be safe. Also eat what you kill! I called my son today he is ready to go hunting and fishing with me now. It's been many years sense we hunted together.
i always love going to grandma's and grandpa's house and eating a wholesome meal after hunting and fishing. The cooking part made me feel nostalgic thank you
Our squirrels here in North Georgia sound like a heard of deer coming through the woods when you deer hunt. Funny the deer make no noise as the will sneak up on you before you know it. I still have my kids .22 Chipmunk rifle they learned to shoot with. ......Awesome Memories
You're so right. This is my first year bow hunting deer here in NJ and just as the sun comes up there is always a ton of racket; and it's always squirrels. The deer surprise me every time. The squirrels at least keep me on my feet --they fool me every time thinking it's a deer lol
@@RU-vidr1g I have never seen a animal so small make so much noise like they do. Sometimes I just want to unload my 7 mag on them for getting my hopes up then letting me down. Lol
Funny watching this... watching this in my “office” beside my bedroom looking out the window and watching a squirrel run down the sidewalk. He better watch out I’m starting to get some ideas.
I wish more people on this planet, including myself were more like your mom! This was a great video, but once I heard your mom say what she said, kinda turned into a tear jerker! Love your videos!
Yes, those Currier & Ives with their blue pattern were exceptionally popular after WW2. I still have the set my folks first bought when they got married in 1948.
@@yeetyeeterton1904 sadly I didn't get anything but a bunch of pinfish, but me and my dad are going hunting tomorrow so hopefully we get some pigs or deer
This brought back memories of my dad cooking squirrels when I was young and broke my arm and had to stay home from school. My dad went out in the morning and came home an hour later with a bag full of squirrels and he cooked them up with gravy and rice and beans. It was so delicious
Ya it’s a .22mag Aria is determined to go hog hunting so as she grows with that gun, she’ll be able to take a hog with her first gun... I hope. The trigger on that thing sucks though!!! I need to get it fixed ! It’s really hard to pull!
Likewise, when I was a small child my parents and I went up to Georgia. Dalton is where my dad was born and raised, in the northwestern corner of the state, and my grandparents had a farm right outside of town. Sixty years later those are memories I treasure. This is such a warmly inviting video. You spoke the name of Jesus, and that makes everything alright.
I was raised just the same way, I'm currently working on a new channel. As friends of Rob, do you mind sharing some ideas too. Nice meeting ya all. See ya next response.
In this crazy world , this is like a warm hug to watch these videos . This is the America I grew up watching in Asia and this is the America I fell in love with, I will never love anything more than America ,, even though I am not American , thanks for bringing back old school memories
Squirrel brains and eggs,.....very good!!! Scramble the eggs and brains together until the eggs are done, add salt n pepper to taste,....that is one that has stuck with me over the years!!!
This makes me so happy to see how you are responsibly and properly teaching your girls how to use a gun safely and to shoot safely. You are a good Father sir.
For that video bring back so many memories for Mom fixing a rabbit and squirrel making her own gravy with her homemade pear preserves and biscuits they really make me miss my mother
Hey Robert, I've been watching DMFD for years. Back when y'all had the resort in Florida. I've loved watching you throughout the years. From captaining the fishing boats to hunting in the swamps. This video brought me back to my childhood and how I grew up too. God bless you and your family. Thank you sir. You are a great inspiration for Family, Faith, and the love for the outdoors!
John, this episode reminds me of my grandfather teaching me when I was 8 years old about firearms. So many children get hurt by firearms because they are not taught about them. What you just told your daughter, "You're only allowed to shoot with mommy and daddy", was a similar statement my grandfather told me. When she reaches her teens then you can teach her how to carry with others hunting with her to be safe.
My dad started taking me rabbit hunting with him when I was 5. When I turned 8 I received my own .22 rifle. It was the gun my dad had during the depression that he used to help feed their family. Before he went off to war in WW2 he gave it to his dad. My granddad gave it to me.
Just gained a lot more respect for this channel. This reminds me of all the time I’ve spent with my grandparents. We mostly hunted with squirrels dogs but the simplicity and down to earth brings it all home.
Hey mate love what your doing Very educational I grew up in New Zealand 🇳🇿 and my fav go to meal is always a good pork bone boil up Your the man Also well done for educating your children 👍👍
@@rickterrance4981 lol sorry but a lot of us Californians are moving. I get that we aren’t liked by many but at the end of the day its our country too.
@@AccountInactive i could tell people in the south to stop doing the things that almost split the union. but your point is well received and i would agree.
"Get whacked with a switch then go out and play" they were raised right. Favorite family dish: Stuffed cabbage rolls and ham hocks all in a roaster pan filled with sauerkraut!!!
Rob had to go to a gun class because I’m in the navy and he’s telling his daughter the same stuff they taught us in boot. Shout out to you ROB for gun safety
My grandfather grew cane on his little 80 acres. We had the best cane syrup ever. This brought back so so many memories. My daddy hunted squirrels when he was a kid, and that was the first thing I ever hunted with my 16 gauge as a child. Good good memories. Thank you!
I grew up in a ghetto in upstate New York my dad taught me how to hunt and fish wild game was a regular on our table. The one food that brings me back to childhood most of all is trout for breakfast I remember my aunt cooking it up for us right after we brought it home. When my late wife was ill I had broken my back and we were flat broke I fed her my fishing it took the phone off it for many years after she passed and I do thank God I was able to provide for her because of what my father taught me. I've been a Floridian since the '80s I moved here for the fishing and hunting now the closest I get to hunting is watching your videos and I just had to post my boat for sale my health is failed to the point I can no longer take it out on my own. I know your daughters will be so grateful as they become adults the lessons you and your wife have instilled upon them.tgbtg!
See that's what I was thinking at first..ewwww yukk squirell eating?..really?..but than thought hey those squirrels eat healthy out on that farm I bet there not bad actually
Wild squirrels: Healthy, free roaming, chill NYC squirrels: Will mug you for a slice of pizza, high on ketamine, owns an underground MMA ring and a black market phone place.
My grandmother’s(Gangann), she passed away Oct 22nd this past year, I wouldn’t much less get through the door with fresh fish I’d caught that she would have them in the frying pan.
