Ty for getting back to Cat Stevens, his songs told stories of life love and the world around us ..he had a way and a voice that delivered songs so well and make you think..still today they resonate so well..we forget as we grow how it was to be a child and see the world as a child..I have since the age of about 20 decided to have what i refer to as "The Peter Pan Syndrome"..keep in my heart and in my eyes the world as a child..to absorb and keep in me that wonder that joy.. TY for an awesome review and please do more from the great man Cat Stevens as we need to remember...Keep Safe Keep Stroing
The petulant child running the States now is an example of a child not getting the acknowledgement, love, grounding it needs and acting out still in its final years.
I've mentioned this before about cat Stevens ,I'm a big fan, because growing up my father was a big fan. If I'm not mistaken the drowning story that someone else mentioned, afterwards his brother gave him a copy of the qur'an and that set him on his Religious path. The pictures that accompany the song.. Let you see how technology is over running the Earth.. Thus ,where do the children play?.... He has so many great songs.. And something else that some people might not know, all of the artwork on his album covers like "Tea for the tillerman" are drawn by him.
I'm 44. My parents were born in '54 and '47. I think my childhood and my parents were pretty much the same. I had more TV channels, VCR's, and the beginning of home video game systems than them growing up, but my brother and I still went outside, played around with kids in the neighborhood, rode our bikes around, etc..I didn't get a cell phone until my mid to late 20's. Then a smart phone almost a decade after that. Now kids have full internet access and smart phones before age 10!!! It's waaay different than when I was growing up. The scariest thing is all of the things they can be exposed to on the internet. Not to mention video game addiction and living out they're entire childhood, even into adulthood virtually. So this song is even more true now. Great review. I'm a subscriber!!!
