As part of Mining Forum 2014, Caterpillar hosted several demonstrations of the Cat mining product line for customers from around the world at the Tinaja Hills Demonstration and Learning Center in Arizona. Recorded in May 2014.
Seriously that commentator just knows what each machine is capable of. Even being critical of the way they are used. Caterpillar should be commended on a very though video showcasing all that is good with the brand. Nice job 👍.
This is interesting as fuck even though I am not a machine operator much less working in the mining industry, but the amount of skills and thoughts that go into every move on these machines to minimise wear and tear and increase work efficiency is amazing.
I'd love to be able to show my Grandfather these Machines in person , he thought his 1934 White "150 h.p. heavy duty yes sir " 3 ton was awesome , he passed in 1970 at age 87, unfortunately, but he would have marveled at these beautiful Huge Cat Machines, and the technology in them !!!
on one hand: never realized the skill and detail that actually goes into these jobs. on the other hand: what am i doing with my life. i have zero to do with this whole industry: P
the best ever is a CAT on all heavy equipments on my 24years i use cat and other"s marks but not comparation really the much stronger and fiability in a CAT cheers from norway
Great, educational, promo video. The commentator had some great written material in front of him, but I believe he also had some empirical knowledge that he put forth very well.
Not hard to run a haul truck. Most are diesel/electric. Diesel engine driving an electric generator for the wheel motors. At least with the large mining haul trucks they're that way. The smaller swivels or artic I.e 725 cat etc are diesel with a transmission
32:40 That D11 actually has a better technique that the D10 and D9 contrary to what the commentator is saying. The D11 is actually already flush with his target floor and his muckpile in front of the dozer in the D11 is actually less than the other two - more efficiency and less end work to open that road.
I like the double hydraulic armed 994 better then the single rod endloader it just seemed like the single boom is not as structuraly strong enough to hold it's weight. I no it's rated way over it's load. But it's a preference I prefer having to arms and to hydraulic boom arms picking load up with two arms of steel just seems more rigid and sturdy. They are nice and very dependable not bashing the other style just what I would prefer picking up huge loads of rock and dirt. So much weight no joke.
@@hamishcampbell4578 I am a year late with the response. Its like John Deer its a name but the name is the reputation. And i love there innovations. Do i need to be in the Industry to like heavy machinery? :D
“10/12 shift the operator will not be fatigued at all with the stick sterling” I don’t care what kind of steering you have in a machine it’s a long shift.
? is that the new product. Is this the revamp of O&K EXCAVATORS? Think cat brought over the colossal plant and now begin to push out diggers @ this size.If you look good the back of the machine is O&K.Pehaps new engine hydraulics but the body still resembles the initial machine. This is really nice to see Cat this size in excavators.......
992 operator should be more smooth in the operation due to this monster having more power and the pile is fine material which is easier to break into from my experience
How many miles per gallon does this give you? :) What is the total range? How big a battery or generator does this have to operate those How do you get gas down to the bottom of the mine safely?
I came here to watch because i am curious and wanna know which of this cute mine dump trucks is the smallest kind of them. Ohh so 775g cat is the smallest kind, am gonna steal it, i wish!
How ironic that Caterpillar no longer makes a CT truck anymore. The 5110B was never replaced. If so then why was there such a long time period between the 5110B discontinued & the 6015B being introduced?THe 6015B Is not it either.Komatsu does not make 993K sized wheel loader.Nor a 24M.Ironically Unit Rig has disappearred since Caterpillar bought them to.
When I see someone like Komatsu or theCHinese or anyone else stealing thes designs from CAT I get reallysteaming mad. Nobods does it as good as CAT! Thakns Yous!
