Cat takes elevator 

Hello everyone! Due to the great interest I'd like to provide you guys with some more background info about this video and Jip. I myself do not live in Jip's building. I was visiting a friend and happened to enter the building at the same time as Jip. I knew at which floor Jip had to leave, since my friend already told me about this cat that casually uses the elevator. Here are some more facts about Jip: - Jip is male. - Jip meows in fluent Dutch; - He is the undisputed king of his block and rules his neighbourhood with an iron paw. - Jip never has to fight other cats because other cats do not dare to challenge him. - Although he looks tough, he's a very sweet cat and never misses the opportunity to receive pets. - Jip's owner has installed a bell at the front door of the apartment which Jip rings when he wants to get in. - Jip usually visits owner's apartment to eat and drink and then he's on his way out again to keep watch over his territory. - Even during winter time Jip likes to chill outside.

This cat has trained all of the residents in that apartment complex. Impressive.

A cat’s dream is a door that opens automatically after a few moments meowing and mentally willing it to open. This is my theory on why the kitty likes the elevator.

My friend worked in a building that had a cat. She was hit in the street outside and someone ran out and grabbed her. After her recovery she moved into the building and spent most days at the concierge desk. She knew to use the elevator to the basement where her dishes and litter box were. When someone saw her loitering by the elevators they'd go over and send her down. Then the building maintenance workers would send her back up when she was ready.

The owners are very lucky to have kind and trustworthy neighbors.

Just shows how respectful the cat is all along, kept talking about the weather all along.

Gotta love when someone’s pet manages to befriend their owner’s neighbors. Jip is a very clever kitty!

My old cat, Athena, was Queen of the 14th Floor. She'd sit on welcome mats outside the doors of other apartments. A neighbor would get home, open their door.....and Athena would walk in, wander around that apartment, then return to the communal area on the 14th Floor. A different door would open, and Athena would make her patrol of that apartment.... Athena would accept treats and scratches from all her subjects on the 14th Floor.

It takes a lift like no problem, right?! Not afraid at all! That's a great cat right there.

I used to know a cat like this in tokyo. Everyone in thr building knew what floor he was on and we would take him up and down. He ruled us with an iron paw!

The landlord taking the elevator to talk to his human tenants is so nice! He’s really a cat of the people. 10/10 great landlord.

His politeness in the elevator is remarkable. Keeps close to the door for a quick exit, doesn’t talk much to the other occupants, keeps a low profile (figuratively and literally).

Cool cat! It is nice having a neighbor that is a cat.

Humans: This cat is so clever. He knows how to ask people to give him an elevator ride. Jip: These humans are so clever. They know how to work as my personal lift operators.

I had a cat living at my college dorm who would often take the elevators. He'd just wander around the building being greeted here and there, but he knew the way to the stairs to get back down for some foods.

Omg i would be petting him into he got to his stop this was epic and you can tell its not his first time roaming the halls 😁😁

This cat is such a boss, I'm convinced he was collecting rent.

By his limp he's an older cat. It's nice that he just asks his neighbors to get him home.

Meow is everything. Cat probably thinks that elevator is kinda magical portal when the door closes then when it opens you can go wherever you need just in a second. Smart baby.

I really like how the cat understands going in the elevator takes it somewhere else, but doesn't quite understand how, seeing how the cat instantly tries to leave after getting in. Like all it knows is that it must go into the elevator, and then leave.

He seems really invested in his "neighboroud checking" 🐱 very serious and full of professionnalism. 🐱 I will 100% trust this cat for the management of my residencial building.

I hadn't realised at first that the person who records it isn't its owner. It's really impressive that it knows in which floor is its home. Also, that he trusts neighbours enough to be in a closed elevator alone with them.
