Jasper’s such a sweet boy, he didn’t fight them at all despite clearly being in pain and a bit scared (wide dilated pupils). I’m so glad he got care in time.

My boy had that happen twice. He did finally go wee on his own when Dr. Laura was here the first time. The second time, he wasn't blocked for long, and did go on his own, again. We now have him on a urinary care cat food. So far, so good. It has been over two years since the last incident.

We also have my boy, Raven, on urinary tract health food. He's currently seventeen years old and has had to be on this food along with filtered water since 2012. We have had to switch him over to canned food over the years because he lost teeth as he's gotten older. He now also has to have clearlax mixed in for hard stools and cosequin for cats for his joints. He's been doing great this year in comparison to his mother whom took a nosedive on her health and sadly passed away in 2019 at fifteen years of age. He even suns himself on sunny days which seems to also help to make a difference.

There is a veterinarian whose male feline patient had a blockage, so the veterinarian did surgery so that the male could and would urinate like a female feline. Genius !

My sister's fur baby died in January at two because of a blocked urinary tract. It was horrible. We did everything we could to save him. It broke her heart.

I hope so too, but this disease usually repeats. Decades ago my male cat had it almost constantly from age 1. He was put on the special diet to no avail. When he eventually spent more nights at the vet than at home we sadly decided to have him put down. He was miserable almost all the time :-(
