currently running one of these models, backfilling on a sub division job and I can agree on the power being improved it pushes like no tomorrow and runs very smooth one of the nicest dozer's I have ran so far during my heavy equipment career 👍

4:50 i helped build this engine! maybe, roughly 50% percent chance, we run night and day shift on the assembly line for these. it's cool seeing where they go into
I guess I'd better update my RC collection! Now that the D7R is not an option no more I'll have to update that build, & bring it up to the new standards.
My question is will the new D& have a hybrid engine option like the new D6 or old D7E or will it only come in a traditional package? Also I can attest to the demand for the high track D7. I was one of the 4 winners to the Dream Dozer experience back in June 2019 for the launch of the new D6. One of the other members on the tour was constantly asking where their high drive D7 was at the entire time lol Lastly if anyone didnt noticed, the new naming convention for dozers was broken down on the D7's blade and if you look at it, you can see they're bringing back the D1 and D2. But how? Because they are rebranding some of their other existing dozers. With the new D6 that came out, the Old D6T, D6N and D6K didnt have a place, so they redistributed the numbers to make it work, so heres the new breakdown: D6T = New D6 D6N = New D5 D6K = New D4 D5K = New D3 D4K = New D2 D3K = New D1

So they abandoned the DIESEL-ELECTRIC drivetrain of the D7E and went back to the old slush box ? 🤨🤔 Seems like a step backwards but then again I don't operate nor design heavy equipment.
D7E was not cost effective when compared to new D6 XE. D7E made sense at the time since it was an underperforming model. Technology advanced to point where it made sense on most common Medium Dozer
Yeah he made it sound like high drive is new. D7E are low drive but D7R and all the way up to D11T are all high drive for decades. All of our dozers are high drive no one has low drive we are.
Add a couple more zeros and you're more in the ballpark. That's a $450,000 dozer. The electronics are becoming the reliable part of the machinery. The emissions control equipment is the nightmare.
Why did it take so many years to pull their head out of their ass to finally make a machine that that truly replaces a late model D-8 H ???? And a 4 barrel ripper to boot !! Then again I'm talking about a weight classification that can rip and finish rock. You boys that play in the dirt ? Don't have a clue...
@@no1mongrel as I'm of an age that would know the difference. As an operator and contractor. If you had a clue you know that Caterpillar doesn't pay worth a shit. If they were serious about building and manufacturing equipment as they are sitting back and smoking cigars and having Europe and China stock a foot up their ass to get motivated as well pride themselves on arrogance. We would have something to talk about. Otherwise you sound like like you know nothing more than playing in the dirt. Sorry, that's a kids job and most of these kids. Don't know the first thing about what these crawlers should have the capability to achieve. Even yet this 4 barrel ripper is a serious joke. The cost per pound is re'dick'q'las. As well as your statement. Or else you would, if you had some experience, would have thought twice before making it.
After running the D7E diesel/electric for about a year, glad to never see it again. That fool design will end up killing people, pickup trucks, fuel trucks, well heads, you name it. WHY?? Because new operators, or new buyers, or mechanics/service workers...will either claim "I've run lots of dozers..." or, if no one is around to point out certain features..Any of these persons could climb on this machine and quickly make it move, but certain controls and switches will be mysterious or counter-intuitive to them, and a lot happens quickly at that point!!

I'll take the low drive any day, back the high drive into a ditch an do the same with a low drive guess what the high drive is stuck the low isn't, the high drives Balance is off
