As a business owner myself, I can assure you that what you did servicing that equipment, you took a huge load off of DP. There are never enough hours in the day to work, get supplies, service equipment, move equipment, etc. Good job Cap.

That fan belt trick is the coolest thing I have seen in quite a while, it is just a shame that I only work on cars, where there is nowhere as much room in the engine compartment as in a 10 ton loader. The comment that somebody should make a contraption with a piece of belt, and a handle, was pure (and DRY ) GOLD.

Hey Mike, I learned from a pretty smart guy, when all the old fluids have been drained before you put the plug back add a small amount of new fluid and that will drain out the rest of the dirty fluid. Some free advice from a friend in upstate NY!

My granddads tractor has never had clear hydraulic fluid. It’s always been milky. When I got it I drained every bit of the hydraulic fluid putting a new lift pump in it. There was just barely some old fluid left that I couldn’t het out. Put new fluid in it ran it for a couple hours checked it and it was just as milky as before, he ran it like that all my life and it’s still going.

Even with the oil spill, ya did a great job for a part time employee. It's a measure of someone's attitude and professionalism when they go beyond what was assigned themselves like you did on the exhaust stack. I'm sure Mike's going to appreciate that. It'd have sucked had it fallen off on a job.

Those 855s and 955s are solid tractors man, every time I see em for sale they ask for good money and I understand. Love the content man, don't change a thing.

It's good to see old equipment maintained and cared for. Myself I have a volvo l70 payloader with 23000 hours and I spent a solid week fixing things when I bought it.

I like rice ash or just ash from the fireplace to soak up oil that gets spilt. Rice ash can be reused where fireplace ash can not, once and done for it. Primer or not, still a good idea to add fresh clean fuel to a fuel filter before installing, and then using the primer to just top off pressure for the system….saves time and energy. That hydraulic filter on the little Deere has water in it which will take out the seals in the cold, letting you replace each and every seal in the hydraulic system. I suggest you keep a rag in the cab of each machine to wipe off the connectors for quick connections for the hydraulic system helping to keep dirt and other contaminants out of the system and saving you headaches when implements don’t work right because dirt is plugging those little orifices. Hydraulic systems can be touchy only because of those little orifices getting plugged with dirt or other contaminants.

That ole loader needs lots of love. However Mike does keep it maintained is the reason his equipment last as long as it does.

I'm not a professional welder but I did collision repair for 35 years and your welds look fine to me don't be so hard on yourself practice is the key

Oh, the joys of stiff bolts and filters..... and I learned a different use for a fan belt !! 🤓 Three and a bit tubes of grease, that was some serious lubing!!! Good to use small shops, you are supporting local businesses and families!! Did someone fill the 855 with tea rather than hydraulic oil ?? Didn't look like builder's tea (that is usually stong enough to stand a spoon up in) more like afternoon tea tea 🤣 Intro and outro, in and out clean and lean Mike !!! 😁😉

As short supplies exist for nearly anything you want now days. It is wise to stock filters and fluids for at least one service well in advance. Then order to refill the shelf.

Good mornin Mike! Not sure if you have tried a Loc-N-Lube fitting on a grease gun yet, but I find them to be fantastic! I haven’t found a reason not to use one yet!

Great video you can use a big pair of channel locks to get filters off

3 minutes in, we've established you steal gloves, can't hit a 2 foot wide drainpan, don't have a filter wrench, and don't know what day it is. It makes me laugh as you remind me of me :) Like me too, you did great work - Cheers!

the Belt wrench is a cool idea ,less mess than the screwdriver oil filter wrench LOL( at least I'm not the only one who makes a mess when servicing an old Cat 926), hope you got that rear drive shaft greased, that's the hard one to reach, Have a great week Mike

So, while everyone is in Vegas, you get to do maintenance. Just one question: Oil filter - Brand New, Hydraulic filter - Brand New, Air Filter - Let's just blow the sucker out and put it back in! Its got to be a Dam good reason why it is not new? I'm sure you can elaborate in the next video! I see it as they all are important to maintain.

I know it's three weeks late but for future reference if you loop the belt through the box end of a wrench and then put the loop around the filter it gives you a handle to work with

I repack my grease tubes from a five gallon bucket of grease that has multiple different types of grease in it. I bought it at an auction for $5. It all clean grease. Not sure what the deal was with it but it was at an old farm. The only thing I have to grease though is lawnmowers and an old truck that's way past it prime.

Job well done Mike! Im surprised he doesn't keep more filters on hand. Down time is no good, I keep at least 2 filters on hand for everything i own.

And there is the answer folks.... Mike does do windows....lol

I find you unique in brand of humor and tastes... its all good Mike. You may struggle when its ten million subscribers. Its a crowded bus so you ain't alone. Just remember as long as you have kids, you pick up milk at the gas station cause it costs more but you don't have to stand in line to check out behind sixty other people in the store.

I just commented over on dp's channel I'm glad you guys posted I'm sick of watching competitive eaters. And I was saying that there's nothing like having a good shop day... That being said it's nowhere near as fun when you're by yourself!! I say go ahead and paint them rims whatever color you want!!! How mad could he possibly get?? I'm sure he has a few cans of John Deere yellow laying around if he hates it!!... P.s. building up a weld on rusted out thin metal like that I think you did a kick ass job!!
