love how the name is cataclysm, kinda showing off that inspiration (i pray they make a fabric port eventually but honestly even if they dont i might still try it, the sawblade weapon is so cool lmao)
@@mthaylanprogames3689 if it is, I'd presume it's a bit of inspiration given the more boss-based progression with much more unique items and weapons than base Minecraft, although some of that can just be coincidence due to making a good mod, the fact it's name is "Cataclysm" while terraria's biggest mod is named "Calamity" is somewhat showing there was some inspiration (quick explanation for anyone unknowing, Calamitas (main boss in Calamity) had two brothers who were named Catastrophe and Cataclysm, hence the names being related) granted, this all could, in theory, just be a coincidence, but it's cool to think about
not only is this a fully complete showcase *with* strategies for how to overcome the bosses and recognize their attacks- but the text is witty and you don't use an ai voice to just get out as much content as fast as possible! definitely subscribing
A huge tip with Ignis I found was it is essential to use the environment to your advantage, as I've found all of his attacks DO NOT break any blocks, meaning trapping him would not be so difficult / luring him to an easier place to destroy him, hope this helps!!
Yo dude, I appreciate the fact that you put calamity and fanmade calamity add on music and the style of text conjurer for the video. Good luck on becoming one of the most special mod showcaser
I think it's missing real progression at the moment. it adds, 6 bosses post enderdragon but no real boss that feels like a goal, no new ore, Dimension "FINAL BOSS" (that can be a moving goal post upon updates). like you, I think it can become the minecraft version of terraria. but right now it's nowhere near fulfilling that role, it's on the way it seems tho.
@@selfishbeatswelp, there is a common theme of the “void power” in mod that is probably going to be explored on later, also unlike terraria mods Minecraft mods tend to be less self-sufficient, no one prohibits you to install TerraFirmaCraft and wear Enigmatic Legacy’s ring of seven curses to make this bosses be actually a god tier threat, rendering the loot as simple as iron from the watchers of the ancient factory a valuable resource making your ascension to divinity a far more challenging and rewarding task. Remember that this example came into my head over a timespan of 11 seconds after reading your comment fully. Anyway I guess you got the drill
Excellent video greztrez! I daresay it was even better than your last review. Great use of editing and framing of the various places. However I still have a gripe with the cut off hotbars, I wonder why you leave them like that though. But great video notherless, you convinced me to play with this mod next time.
hey, sorry about that- the next mod showcase will not have the hotbars cut off. it is merely an editing error that i have finally(hopefully) ironed-out! i know my viewers have been justifiably irked by that editing error so it should be gone after this video and after.. thanks for the kind words. :)
@@greztrez2366great video, i loved it! Tip: add video chapters, your viewers will believe your videos to be more structurized if you do so, and it will make it easier to skip to one particluar boss (or anything else important if this were another video)
UNHOLY INSURGENCY WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Subbed. Okay, but the real reason is because you remind me so much of TextConjure! whom has stopped posting for some time now, and I liked his editing style for his showcases, no words, just text, and funny jokes thrown into the mix.
You are by far the best minecraft mod showcaser I have ever seen! The cinematics, the choice of music, how thorough you are- and you only have two showcase videos! Keep it up and you'll 100% him 1M!
if anyone wants to know WHAT void fangs are used for, they make a special upgrade to spectral arrows called void shatter arrows, which split into 20+ small fragments that deal 1-3 (dont quote me on this) damage which all ignore immunity frames. when fired at the feet of larger targets a single arrow can potentially deal 50+ damage with power 5 on your bow. even better if you use mods with multishot enchantments or anything like that. very worth farming a couple stacks of these fangs in my opinion.
I love the personality you put into your text! Not only does it tell to us clearly what things give or do, but there's those little bits of character put into the text like it's someone actually talking, even without an audible voice. Been really enjoying the stuff you've put out!
When i saw the video, i was having some nostalgia from textconjure, i can say you deserve to take his place on mod showcasing with text, you are just as good as him, the way you explain the mod is very engaging :)
1:05:06 I recognize those bells any day! This was a masterfully made video definitely earned my sub Edit: Made me relisten to the entire track to figure out which part that was
1:16:00 - 1:17:52 This was easily my favorite part of the video just because it actually uses the power of *immersion* at the end to make me hopeful for the future of this mod (i.e. stating that adventurers, not players developed new tech, monsters evolved to withstand blahblah) instead of using an cheap AI voice or using a soulless script. Great job, Greztrez and I'm hoping to see more from you in the future! I probably shouldn't have wrote this comment better than my essay.
naww, f that essay. this comment made my night... thanks for stopping by! i hope you like the next upcoming showcase! (also im kidding- please do your essay it's probably important)
I was surprised with the Dark Tower's music here, and then I stayed to look at what the mod has to offer. Now I'm looking at trying this out some time in the future, awesome showcase.
This is one of my favorite mods out there, I love the mini boss pets that the mod dev has been adding more recently, I hope future and maybe a few previous bosses get a mini pet versions of them selves someday (the void core also has a second void spike attack when you look straight down and either right click or shift click it)
I've been using clataclysm in my vanilla-esque modpacks for a while now and i have to say it is a great addition to the game. The bosses never feel too game changing and there drops and items never feel too game breaking compared to the vanilla minecraft experience. Also every boss and it's respective dungeon is always optional for normal minecraft progression. The only issue i ever had with the mods progression is that skipping bosses that you might not know exist and going back to them later removes there difficulty and can make there drops obsolete One of the highlights of my runs is finding the netherite monstrocity as the fight is always exilirating and the loot it drops always felt worth getting
Oh, and to add more; the Amethyst Crab reminds me to Crambulon, a fungus-like giant crab that can be summoned on the glowing mushroom biome, that it's found on the caverns
the mod evolved so much and so quick the devs have made an incredible job at making a masterpiece, the battle are unique and fresh, loved the ignis fight with the phase 2 , the sword looking at the sky its epic ! i love the immersion you gave on the video(thanks you for not using tts/ai narator tho) the video switch between story and explanation are so well implemented. just congrats what can i say ahah thanks you it was a very good video to watch i'll follow along the journey with you for now on
Great video presentation. I like this mod and how it brings up new challenges for the players to enjoy In my opinion however, the bosses should have a way to have a rematch again, so that we may be able to collect the necessary Ignitium bars per say to craft the entire set, armor and all. Also boss specific crafting items to craft/upgrade more stuff Side note, you never says what the Void Fangs are used for.
if anyone wants to know WHAT void fangs are used for, they make a special upgrade to spectral arrows called void shatter arrows, which split into 20+ small fragments that deal 1-3 (dont quote me on this) damage which all ignore immunity frames. when fired at the feet of larger targets a single arrow can potentially deal 50+ damage with power 5 on your bow. even better if you use mods with multishot enchantments or anything like that. very worth farming a couple stacks of these fangs in my opinion.
I never knew you could actually break Ignis' shield. I always fought him the hard way. Something I found out doing the fight that way is that if you get him to about a third of his health and he still has his shield, he'll get rid of it by then and fight you solely with the sword.
Kinda surprised at the fact that the developer didn't jump in the prospect of creating a Witherite power armor from the Witherite ingots given the fact that they added so much utility to them already.
important mention, the weapons that have a right click ability will not allow you to use a shield or anything in your off hand if the ability is up to use
came back to this video to make sure it's rare to find one of the bosses' structures. Just made my first nether portal in this world and the Soulforge is less than 500 blocks away
It's truly shameful that Minecraft, a company who owns the most sold game in history can't accomplish to make what modders can do by themselves. Its sad we get 3 obnoxious mobs per update when we could be having this...
Fr it’s so simple just add all types of shit like this but then have the option to toggle basic minecraft in world creation settings to just play normal mc with nothing cool in it and just empty like how it is rn but nah they’re too lazy
I had a wild dream about this mod, I ended up in a server with 4 or 5 strangers playing modded Minecraft, I think they had other mods installed to go with it, unless the biome mod was part of the boss mod. There goal was to find these things, if I remember they were either called Ancient Wardens or Distant Wardens, massive bosses that weren't wardens and looked more like these bosses or the big mobs from Alex's Caves. The only ones I remember fighting was this huge leviathan in this underwater structure that looked like a sunken construction site or dock in a chasm, best part was it that the thing unearthed a treasure room and I think we escaped through the Nether because it was too strong, and this big flying thing in this large structure that I unfortunately can't remember the appearance of. I also found a lot of weird treasure, like weird looking apples, piles of what looked like feces made of magma, and coal, gold, and iron. We even found this neat wool combining station to go in their little wool shop.
I'm just now coming back to Miencraft after about a decade-long hiatus, When I last played, pillagers were still a recent addition. This video is miles different from Skydoesminecraft's old showcases (who was a huge part of my childhood, and sadly all those cool-ass mods he reviewed seem to be long-dead). Has the community really changed this much in my absence?
Im pretty sure some of the tracks for the major bosses were from terraria's calamity mod (the end guardian using the theme from a fan extention that adds a boss called goozma)
To be honest, the Cataclysm reminds me to the Calamity mod(from terraria, obviously), not just because of the abyss biome, but also because of the summon of one of the bosses, that reminds me to the summon of Calamitas
26:12 This is now called a Coral Golem. Coral Golems only appear when the Leviathan is killed. The new version of Coralssuses now take their place with the Deeplings.
I wonder if it would be fun or self-defeating to install some complicated and expensive nuke mod alongside this and set the goal of the playthrough as nuking every boss. Could be a fun power trip, or it could be OP and underwhelming.
@@greztrez2366 I was watching your video on that mod. It seems kind of goofy and cartoonish but that kind of lightheartedness might be what I actually need in Minecraft instead of the realism approach I've been taking with mod selection. Alex's Caves reminds me of the fun stuff in the Attack Of The B Team modpack from back in the day.
i really like the ancient pyramid. it gives me vibes i associate with very old minecraft it also reminds me a bit of farrum azula, which is also very cool
