Thank-You for bringing us another passionate portative organ performance! Your playing on other instruments is wonderful. But, when you play that little organ you transcend to that spiritual plane that only the true artists reach.
Wonder of musical instrument! Congratulations on the performance! Where could I buy such an instrument? I live in Brazil, and would love to have one! Sincerely yours, Ezriel Cardoso
Ha, I've performed MANY times in that chapel, including my senior recital! It's a stunningly beautiful space, and that Brombaugh Renaissance organ in the back gallery is an American treasure! Gorgeous playing, by the way, Catalina! I would love to know who built your portative. I'd also love to know your opinion on who would build the best organ along the lines of a large portative/small positive...
Wout Moerman, in fact I decided to record this video transposing a 5th down, to experiment with another timbre of this instrument, than where I usually perform this piece. You will be able to hear the other version with a higher register in the CD Organic Creatures, to be released in February.
