Impressively tight timing between bellows work and right hand (how do you get such long phrases!!) and such joy in the playing, it's like you are singing everything (well, you are!). Unusual delicate effects I've never heard anyone else get out of any portative. Utterly lovely.

@Gennady Golovkin The first was I believe called a cucurbit, a long flute-like instrument with a sound like a gentle bagpipe, only without the drone. The other - don't know the name, but a stringed instrument, bowed but with a keyboard for fingering - perhaps six strings? Capable of great virtuosity and wonderful sound.

@Daniel Del Valle Life is a subjective experience. Everyone is ignorant of most things, and everyone has their own perspectives on everything. I'm not telling you that you can't speak your mind, but I think you've chosen a very superficial position. It doesn't matter how people judge music. Music is not important beyond personal preference.
@HamsterPants522
@HamsterPants522 4 года назад
@Daniel Del Valle You seem to misunderstand me. What I'm telling you isn't a lesson, and I have no reason to care about your education or supposed qualifications on the study of music. What I'm attempting to explain is that there's absolutely no reason to expect anyone to believe that your opinion on the matter of music is important, and that is because all value is subjective.
@ttwiligh7
@ttwiligh7 4 года назад
@Daniel Del Valle Didn't your degrees teach you how to behave in internet? Your language for mocking people is quite disgraceful. Why so angrily agitated all the time and overreacting to little things? "He just wanted teach a little kid a lesson." Yeah, right. There is absolutely nothing wrong about it. I rather found something ill in your comments. Nobody cares about you resume because it's not very helpful here. Not even educational. It's also very childish that you making the issue like American vs Something else.. where individual differences count more. (I don't agree on bashing European like that either ) I'm Japanese living in the United States, but it doesn't matter I'm American or not, what I say in more important than who I am (and how many degrees I have.. sigh...) Yeah, you are worse than a little kid here. You need a serious lesson. A person who got REAL education never acts like you do.

The breath dynamics make all the difference. It makes it so much more organic and expressive than a pipe organ. I love the little thump when the air valve closes, too. It's almost percussion.

@edwardhanson3664 4 года назад
It IS a pipe organ, just a small one.
@johnigoe1705
@johnigoe1705 4 года назад
And there is no "breath" here... the dynamics are only slighly controlled by the bellows. As in all PIPE ORGANs, the pipe is either on or off. The "percussion" you hear is not a valve, but rather a deliberate feature of the pipe's mouth. It is called "chiff"
@sneadh1
@sneadh1 4 года назад
Like a bagpipe, it has drone pipe(s). The Irish bagpipe has a bellows like this, not a mouthpiece.
@artgoat
@artgoat 4 года назад
@@johnigoe1705 Listen more carefully with better speakers or headphones. She dynamically goes from soft to loud for emphasis, which you can't do on a pipe organ at all, because the air box is supplied at a constant pressure. The little thump I'm referring to is the air valve closing when she puts pressure on the bellows, not the "chuff" at the start of each note. Again, you need good speakers to hear it. A cell phone is worthless.

Angels are portrayed playing all kinds of instruments, all of which I knew of and are very real. The little organetto was always a mystery as they went extinct and disappeared suddenly and not to be seen until early music revival in the 1960s. Today a dutch maker will make you one for 4-10K. These are complex instruments and require great skill & time to build. I know first hand as I have built several pipe organs myself.
