I have this pedal as well, versatile in an understatement, the headroom is massive and the tones are plenty, I love a pedal that I can shape many different tones out of it, also Catalinbread have secret modes, can be used as an EQ pedal as well, this is a solid choice, Love me some Catalinbread!
mine is upstairs in the box. My wife won't let me have until Christmas!!!! this is torture!!!! It needs to get acquainted with the Blood Donor, SFT and Echorec I got on my board. Love the G&L - Love my 94 Legacy with the Blood Donor clean boost - wow!
I tried one today into a Suhr SL68 set to a decent crunch with a Gibson’s and it did real well for still being able to riff and play leads. I found the versatility not what it’s cracked up to be as the blend feature didn’t sound so good with less than half of the dirty signal in there. The mid boost also not so musical. The EQ knob also sounded best at noon (not doing anything) or set just below, bass boost, treble cut for instant Fu Manchu. The bass cut and treble boost when you turned EQ to the right came on too strong, too fast, so it would get too bright and lose too much body. Basically it sounded best being set as if it was just a fuzz pedal. Fuzz to taste, blend fairly high (dirtier), mids up the middle and EQ barely adjusted to the left or not all. It did sound good.
