Great, Informative Review. Ty Definitely keeping this in mind for next discussion on vacations. What’s crazy watching this was I was born in ‘64 so growing up I absorbed lots of Wild Life Programming including Wild Kingdom all the way up to Steve Irwin but never have I seen those animals that hopped on the trees (I’ll butcher the name if I tried) but those lil fellas are interesting but like your LIVE Stream covered they’re lil thieves. Lol 😂

This was our regular spot 5-10 years ago. Back then, they didn't have a pool bar, and the jacuzzis facing the ocean only 1 was heated. Other than that we loved the resort. Xpu-Ha beach is the best beach on the coast from Cancun to Tulum period. Its so built up now, but when we started going back in 09 or 10, CRT was the only resort on Xpu-Ha besides 1 small boutique hotel down the beach a ways. It was basically our own almost private beach. There were abandoned hotels at each end and the jungle was reclaiming them. The abandoned hotel at the south end was cool. The pool was filled with wild fish. The last year we went, they were building a new resort literally right next door to CRT. When snorkeling out front i saw a goliath grouper about 6 ft long like 10 feet in front of me.

Luckily there isn’t a resort next to CRT, just a small condo complex. But there are a couple of beach clubs and a lot of people at the beach there. You’re right about Xpu-ha being the best!

@UpUpOurWay ohh so it was a condo complex they were building next door.....ok....we all thought it was gonna be a new resort. Are the Coati still roaming the path ? I was told they had them all trapped and removed them. We watched a girl get bit by one because she was trying to pick it up. Served her right

The Catalonia playa memoma however u spell it is beautiful as well..no one has the soft bean bags to lay on the beach every resort should have them

Personally, I would have really loved for a beach view from the room instead of a bunch of trees, but it was still very nice over all. Hopefully, You will get a chance to try out the Italian restaurant on one of your future visits. The food you showed looked REAL good! 😎👍You two are crushing it on these super nice tours. This video was excellante!!! 😊

I've stayed at TRS Yucatan, Valentin Imperial and Secrets Akumal in this area and loved them all. Secrets was definitely the nicest but also a fair bit more $. TRS and VIM were IMO quite good value for $. Always on the hunt for adult only luxury properties that are good value. Would you say Catalonia fits that category??

@@spinedoc893 it’s definitely a good value but I would not say it’s luxury at all. It’s a great property on the best beach in the Riviera Maya. If you really want luxury, there will probably be things here that you won’t like. I’m not a big drinker, but others complain about the alcohol selection. I don’t like the towel situation. They bring you a fresh beach towel to your room every night but not really easy to get extras or exchange them. But, that being said, I’ll go back over and over again. We enjoy the food, the pool is good enough, the staff are super friendly, but the beach is incredible and why I’ll keep coming back.

Great video! I had to giggle over the Marco Polo bit... I went to the new Bobby Flay bistro the other day, Brasserie B in Caesar's Palace, and my bartender's name was named Caesar... I said that sounded a lot like a lie 😂 Then asked if the real Caesar lived there 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway, you did a great job showcasing this property and the edits are really nice 🥰🥳❤️

I like the idea that you don't have to pay for the kayaks and the mini catamaran. In the US it is highway robbery to rent things. Beautiful resort. Thanks for sharing. Mexican resorts really know how to deliver!!! The poolside music and the night activities are off the charts. My absolute favorite travel destination is Mexico hands down. I'm not really liking the wording "priveleged" for their levels of benefits. After all, there is a push to call white Americans "privileged." I feel there is a slight undertone of mockery. The other thing I do not like is I don't think the meat is beef. I believe it is horse meat. None of the cuts of steaks ever looks like your typical Tbone or ribeye.

There are sooo many excursions you can take… chichen Itza pyramid, Tulum ruins, Xcaret, xel-ha, Xplor, Coba ruins. There’s a cenote (water hole) across the street even! Join the Catalonia Royal Tulum Facebook group. So many people have great suggestions!

@@spinedoc893 we have! We went there before trying CRT (pre RU-vid). The beach is really nice, but CRT is much better IMO. Maroma has the cutest coffee though 😂

Also I wanted to add a maid stole my shoes..we had do not disturb sign on our door she came in anyways I called security when I noticed they were missing of course nothing done about it and no I didn’t forget them at the beach or at home..I have a small foot and so did the maid..been to Mexico 20 times never have I had something stolen..u can’t put shoes in a safe so..be careful what you bring

Looks like a great place for people that don't live in a island state. A little to chill for me;, need the hustle and bustle and the people like Vegas. However, the food looks great, Melissa looked great in the bikini and I believe I saw a rare sighting of the cameraman Enrique in shorts no less.

Great video. Please tell me this. I have knee issues and going up and down stairs is a problem with me. Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? (ie: from room to restaurants, beach, pool etc..) Thanks so much, Steve S

No, no elevators. You’ll need to request a ground floor room. Everything else is ground level, but there are some cobblestone walkways to maneuver through and no golf carts. They have some that they use for luggage in service roads. It’s possible they might help if you have trouble. I’m at a different resort as we speak. No golf carts but we were talking to a lady who has trouble walking and they’ve been very accommodating. Catalonia staff are wonderful so I bet they will help you.

You mostly see couples, but there are definitely singles. It’s super relaxing but you’ll also have no problems making friends if you want to.

How is the alcohol selection? I've been to Catalonia Costa Mujeres, and their alcohol selection was poor. They didn’t have any premium beer or alcohol.

Beer was fine. They had Modelo and Corona. They only have the top shelf alcohol for their members. We’re not big drinkers so it was not a deal breaker, but if you like the good stuff, you might just stop at a store on the way and buy some. I’ve heard of people doing that. 😂

They have entertainment by the pool each night, but it’s not the best to be honest. They do have music playing afterward and people hang out at the he bar. But this is definitely more chill than other places we have been to.

This is a resort I'm strongly considering booking for a trip with my boyfriend. I have never done and all inclusive before. And some I've looked at are not truely inclusive as far as food/drinks go. With this place ,is everything actually included?

Yes, unless you want a private dinner on the beach. That’s a special thing. I will say that we aren’t big drinkers, so I can’t comment on alcohol quality, but it’s included.

We have a Sony A7C for the shots where I am talking in front of the camera but most of the shots are on an iPhone. We also have a DJI Action cam that we used on the catamaran.
