What’s your best tip to get more catering contracts?

We've had nothing but a catering intake form on our website for about a year (no real menu) and the conversion rate is incredible, but as you said, you really do need to care about the customer, their event, etc. And if they have requests that stretch your comfort zone I find it best to accommodate when possible and we often add those requests to my internal "catering menu" so it is an easier thing to do going forward. Flexibility not rigidity. That being said, online catering ordering will be going live soon for us with very dialed in menu options and easy to follow layout. Accessibility is just as important as flexibility and the younger generation especially wants to be able to see something, understand it, and submit an order in minutes (which also makes the process so easy for the customer they will be very excited to order through you again). But still being available at all times to call and discuss someone's events will always need to be a top priority.

Catering is saving my business right now. We’re doing a couple hundred burritos for our local high school for their football practices every week. We’re also doing tons of events for a local bank branch who sponsors events almost daily and uses us repeatedly as their caterer. I hope all independent restaurants listen to Ryan here and utilize catering as it very well is a CASH COW. Let’s take care of our customers and give them what they deserve! Much success to all of my crazy restaurant people. 🎉

Thanks Ryan for confirming my suspicions... that every event can and should be UNIQUE and that the need to establish that relationship with the client is paramount ... we've always developed our catering menus and pricing on a case by case basis and will continue to do so into the future.

Oh Ryan I disagree with you!! If your a restaurant owner stay focused on the people need that come walking though the doors! So many restaurants these days focus on doordash Uber eats etc and catering…
