'Catastrophic' flooding, potential Rapidan Dam failure

Gov. Tim Walz and state emergency management officials held a briefing today to discuss the state's response to what the governor called, "catastrophic" flooding (www.mprnews.org/story/2024/06...) .
The Rapidan Dam's structural integrity (www.mprnews.org/episode/2024/...) is causing concerns for downstream residents as flood waters may cause it to fail.

Normal weather for this time of year. stealing money collected to maintain this dam is the reason it is failing.

Infrastructure is failing. Trumps tax break didn't help. Maybe infrastructure projects that help the rich should be cut back until they pay their fair share

The irony is those states that refuse to invest in infrastructure are always the first in line with their hand out to the federal government for federal money.

Yes. This ☝️ Especially sports venues. Nothing against sports. Personally I’m a lifelong Twins fan, but professional sports teams don’t need special taxes, or government subsidies.

That dam is managed by the county. I'm sure it also was very well built and maintained. The problem is, you can try to control nature, but you will always lose.
