This is Tammie Parrish Miller commenting. I was taught by my mother to love storms for as long as I can remember. The thunder and lightning are something to behold. I love the rain as well. I recently rescued a dog who did not like it at all when the thunder would begin. Finally, he has become still when it storms. I taught him with the sound of my voice that it was comforting if that makes sense. I also love the sound of frogs! This entire video is incredible. How wonderful to have access to this place! Thanks for sharing it with us!
I come to watch this video whenever the BS of social media gets me angry. This video, sorry, masterpiece is a reminder that the internet can be a good place. The cinematography is outstanding, well done to all involved. However, the star of the show, and I hate the word awesome because the English language can be used so much better, the star of the show is the absolute awesomeness of nature. Phenomenal content.
This is actually really cool. I like how it incorporated the storms, but you also get to see the communities and the landscape when it's not storming because they are really never broadcasted about.
IT IS RESPONSIBLE TO SAY THAT YOU DO NOT GO YET, I come from this region, and unfortunately the political problems make it very difficult and dangerous, we have to wait a few years to see if everything improves. But it is beautiful to see.
venezuela best country : angel's falls (amazonas) , lightining capital of world (catatumbo) , The cable car the highest and largest in the world (Merida,). gold, coltan, oil . best beach (roques )
@@zacharieakadutch Friend, you are wrong, the president of that country was elected by the people in a free and democratic election, if he were a dictator the people would have taken him out a long time ago, but that is not so, the people are free to say and do Whatever they want, no one prevents you from traveling wherever you want, you can start any business, you can buy the home you want, that of the dictatorship of Venezuela was an invention of our United States government, because they did not kneel to our whim, that's the truth, You want to see the reality of Venezuela right now, see this video of a Venezuelan RU-vidr, so you can see how people spend their money and enjoy life, not even here in the United States, the stores are so full of people buying electronics and appliances: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4QRLjzKKZwI.html
I think it's peaceful too. I love lightning. One of my most peaceful moments was standing outside at night in a lightning storm in Hot Springs, South Dakota with lightning bolts hitting the ground ten feet away from me every few seconds. I wish I could live in the eye of a storm like this.
Great footage. I spent time with Alan at his place in Catatumbo photographing the storms. It is such an incredible place, and was delighted to see your film, which brought back such good memories. Thanks for documenting this extraordinary place.
I am in Awe of the True Raw Power and Energy that Our World Creates, what happens here is a small Part of a Much Bigger Circuit that is up in Our Skies...its such a Shame that the Knowledge has purposley been kept from us...Much Love and Peace to All...🤜🏼❤🤛🏿
I lived in Caracas, Venezuela in the 1960's when Lake Maracaibo was utilized for its oil very actively. Gas was very cheap as you can imagine from the pump.
@@simetric6551 They just overthrew a dictator, riots quieted down til non-existent in smaller towns. Raul Leoni of the Black (political parties by color because of illiteracy) Party as President. Prosperity soared. Oil sold to the nations. Agriculture rich and exported. Economy thrived. Wonderful. Relations with the US excellent. Then Romulo Bentancourt became President with the same excellent growth. We left in 1968, all was still thriving at that time. Thank you for asking.
I fell in love with this video. The timed lapse pics and the music at 14-18 minutes is uplifting. I'd been in Venezuela and Isla Margarita back in late 80's and never heard of this phenomenon. I was watching Season 2 of Lost in Space and they mentioned this. That's how I'd found your video. Congratulations and thanks so much for sharing!
@@LendaleJohnson86 Same here! I grew up in the 70's watching Lost in Space. I was very different back then in terms of special effects, dialogs and even Dr. Smith was indeed funny but not the heart cold manipulative assasin presented in the new series. But I like it. Happy New Year 2020!
Fantastic film, but it is a pity that we do scarcely hear the sounds of nature because of the music. The film would be the greatest succes without the music!
Maarten Brandt Unfortunately many times the storms are very distant and timelapses don‘t have audio anyway, so I guess it would have been 10 minutes of the same sound as in the beginning of the third song 😄 But I do want to record more on my next trip and will take some sound equipment as well in order to catch the raw beauty of it!
The danish name for thunder is "Torden". My name is Morten. I've bin called "torden Morten" by folks, because everytime there's thunder and lightning, I get hyped just about the thought of it. Which means, This place is going on my bucket list without any doubt. Before I die, I wanna see these skies! AMAZING movie! Amazing!
So incredible and beautiful wish i could see it with my own eyes like a dream to stop thinking about life and live in the moment and feeling accomplished. Great work with the production!
@@gewitterjagd Came for lightning strikes, was a lot of other fluff and no 4:25 for lightning in the description. I liked it, but i get why people disliked it, and i can guess why more didnt rate it.
LovelyHick The point of this video is to show the full experience revolving around the Catatumbo Lightning and not just constant flashing for 20 minutes. I get you and I guess many people will think the same but that‘s not the point of this. For lightning only I have already released a couple of videos here actually, they are shorter but focus on lightning & storm clouds only ✌🏼
gewitterjagd The problem is you failed to deliver the full experience. Hear me out. I was disappointed because you put this overlay of music on it. The storm didn't produce that music so why on Earth did you add it? Nobody wants to hear added music. I personally came to the video expecting to hear just the sound of the storm. You for some odd reason added music on top of something that likely sounded amazing in person. When you recorded this and experienced it yourself, was that music you added playing? NO! But you claim you wanted to "show the full experience". Smh. You essentially robbed the viewers of a real experience when you did all your edits and added music that was not originally the sound of the storm. None of us can appreciate and experience it in the way that you did because you added music and did not allow us to fully hear the thunder and crackling sounds of the storm throughout the video. I absolutely love storms and this video was terrible and a waste of my time. I would have loved to be able to hear its sound without your edits to it. I don't know what parts are the natural sound and which parts are the music you added. Next time, just do a live video and kill all the dramatic effects you added as it takes away from the experience of the storm. You destroyed the masterpiece of this storm when you added sh*t to it. So nobody should be the least surprised that this video got a thumbs down and didn't even go viral. The storm was supposed to the focal point and you just ruined it with all your edits. I'm off to find another channel that gives the viewers and us storm lovers a real unedited experience. Next time, do better and leave out your edits.
@@outspoken9922 not for me. The music adds different harmony on this documentary video. Not everything can go as you wish though. Otherwise, you can record it by your ownself according your way of idealism.
What an amazing phenomenon of a place. Now on my bucket list to visit some day. By the way, according to Wikipedia Francis Drake was writing about the burning of ships, not lightning. But there are other historical references to it that still suggest it has been going on for a long time, and most likely due to it's geographical weather patterns. That means it may have been going on for potentially thousands of years, or millions, if not more.
