A man cruises around late at night looking for something. He pulls in to ask two young girls for directions - only to flash them to get a cheap thrill. Unfortunately, he has picked the wrong girls. They are also out hunting tonight and they will stop at nothing to get their kill. "Catcalls" explores the themes of street harassment and the idea of women being made victims in safe spaces like their own communities. In this fictional horror, the power is shifted and the predator becomes the prey.

Lighting always oddly dim so you can't see anything, yet again oddly always trip around your own home knowing your own layout and the killer never falls and is always faster than you. @@billyandrew You are missing the point of the movie. The women were not women, they were monsters. But, they were monsters with a preferred prey, men who behaved badly (notice they were not very interested in him when they thought he was just asking for directions, which is why they did not kill him immediately when he rolled down his window, as they could have easily done). But, once they chose him as their prey, anyone who happened to be in the way became collateral damage. There is the moral: When you choose evil, you invite the dark consequences of your choices not only upon yourself, but also upon those in your life, even innocent people.

This was such a great short film. It deserves way more views than what it has! I see a lot of people complaining about the guys wife getting killed by the cat monster but it was his fault. She got caught in the “crossfire” because of her husbands action. His action had a consequence.

@@squamish4244 Yes, but they were monsters with a specific type of preferred prey. If they were just monsters who randomly killed any humans they encountered, he would have died right at the beginning when he stopped his car to pretend to ask for directions. He was alone on an abandoned road with his window down, and the woman could have easily transformed when she leaned in to speak to him. But, notice that neither one was particularly interested in him when they thought he was just asking for directions. Once he demonstrated he was a creep, then he became their prey and his wife was just collateral damage, which is one of the points of the movie--when you choose evil, you invite the dark consequences not only on yourself, but on those in your life, even innocent people.

@@niaralosusa When certain people choose to do bad things innocent people may (and often do) pay the price. He suffered his own consequence by getting killed (and he would not have been killed had he not done wrong). But, he also harmed his wife (and possibly others nearby) because of his actions. The demons (they are demons, not guardian angels) had a chance to kill him immediately at the beginning of the film, so they obviously did not just randomly kill people. In fact, the one "cat woman" started to give him directions. Their preferred prey were people with wrongful intent, and anyone else who they killed were unlucky people who got in their way or who might warn others about them (like the wife). The husband decided to do wrong, and he brought consequences on himself and others.

They originally were uninterested in him when they thought he was just asking for directions, but when he harassed them, he became their target and anyone who got in their way was simply collateral damage. When you participate in evil, you invite in the dark consequences of your behavior on yourself AND those in your life. In other words, you are not the only one who ends up paying the price for your bad choices.

I can't exactly say that he deserved this. It's not like if he raped someone...He was a perv, but not a dangerous one. I met a guy like that once in my life, he was standing at my door and doing that when I was going home. I just entered my house and locked the door. After several minutes he was gone. That was a very weird experience, but I wouldn't want that person being killed tho.

The wife died to show how ruthless the catwomen are, and that they are not only avengers, they are predators, monsters, and the man led them to his house for being a jerk. Though we could apply a "guilty by association" tag to the death of the wife, or we could also speculate about why a woman married to someone like him might deserve the death she got, ultimately, I have to base my opinion on what was shown and seeing as there was no shortage of harassers, I think they should have allowed the wife to leave for work, only to come home and find her husband dead, and the girl gone. But that's just my opinion. Over all I think the quality and production was A+ and with a little tweaking it would make a great basis for a a full feature movie.

Reminds me a little bit of the classic horror movie: cat people, both the original made in the forties and then the remake in the 80s with Malcolm McDowell and Natasha Kinski.
