Lucky enough to catch a few kahawai using spinners. We make raw fish and smoke some in the weber grill using manuka and hickory wood chips. A tasty Summertime treat here in New Zealand.
bloody awsome videos bro, gets me hungry as every time I watch plus make me more eager to get out for those morning fishes, keep the videos coming great stuff
Kahawai is such an underrated fish in NZ. You are right about it tasting better on day 2 when it comes to eating it raw. We Shashimi it and even day 3 the oil comes out more. An epic video brother. Thank you for taking the time to film, edit and upload
Hi Clay, would be one the most easily to catch fish, especially off the beach and so many ways to eat it too. Thanks for the comment bro, appreciate that!
Got me! Thought the start was a coffee add & i hit the mute button. When your dog said "Hello" too that made me smile. And thanks for teaching me a new trick, fire one side, fish th'other in the smoker . You make your raw fish same as me .
Love love love your vlogs 👌 hopefully get to see some more soon as ive watched every one of your videos 3 or more times 😂 off for a fish tonight and taking weber along.
Very good fishing. Those are very delicious fish, just grill them straight to the fire and have a nice cold beer. Perfect with fresh garden veggies for healthy living. Thumbs up.
One nice thing about being a youtuber is that I'm able to share my gathering through a lens of a camera to the world, that is pretty cool and sometimes daunting that others enjoy my content🙂 This vid has done well, must be the title😅
That's a good looking cookup mate. Wow you're making me hungry again. Haven't been fishing for years in Melbourne. Everything is poluted and the fish are long gone. Even the bream are gone. Need a boat . Thanks for showing the great videos. Ill be trying this out to. Love the cooking.

Just found your channel , like your laid back way - don't change a thing . Went to the Cut for a fish couple of days ago - first time back there in about 20 -25 years couldn't believe the boat traffic there . Before you would be lucky to see one or two boats - this time there were heaps. Didn't catch anything but had a good time anyway .
Thanks bro, that's the way I am haha. Never fished at the cut, always heard about it though. Saw a few kahawai caught yesterday at Thornton when I was there, all on bait, but forgot the rod.
Videos absolutely love you videos Man keep up the good work don't ever worry about anybody telling you make too much noise eating that's what God gave you the fish to eat you're just saying thank you very much for it you just letting God know that hey thank God for feeding me nothing wrong with making noise don't worry about it I make more noise than you do especially one of something good to eat keep up the good work buddy I watch your videos all the time appreciate it thanks for the hard work

Love this spot , bringing our kids home Christmas they'll love this spot.even gotta Ute bogged there once lol
Wow, mean mish on the water and mean feed on the bbq. Awesome version of raw-fish bro, i use fresh mild chilli's to add some heat and not the chilli flakes like yourself, will have to try the flakes next time. Thanks for sharing.
Thought it might have needed a bit of curry powder as well. I love my weber bbq that my sister found on the side of the road. Have had some great cooks on it
Love your videos bro awesome and keep it up but what fishing lure are you using? I’m new to fishing and just trying to get out and enjoy a bit of fishing
Thanks bro, I like to use the blue/white grim reaper it's called, or the hex lure. Take of the treble hook and put on a single hook around the 6 to 7/O. Also can't go wrong with some pilchards for bait.
Bula bro, I love those days when I'm the only one catching, people think I'm the man, though it's just the way fishing is. Sometimes I go out and get nothing while someone else catches 🤣 😂 😂 Thanks for tuning in bro 🤙🏾
Question, doubt who would know but we used to smoke Kahawai in NZ, fave one to smoke. Here living in Australia now and read that kahawai is known as Australian Salmon here, not a true salmon obviously but is the exact same fish.
``Terrific video Sir. I love raw fish but have never tried Kahawai. I will now! Can I suggest that you put finely chopped coriander stalks to the veggies? An extra taste sensation! Cheers!
Love your video bro! im from Kawerau and this brings me good memories, and Makes me miss home for sure! not sure what it is but Australians alays say that Australian salmon(Kahawai) isnt a good eating fish but they are so wrong! bro
Mean slay bro, I was out there over the Xmas period but on the rock side of the mouth, tangaroa was kind enough to let me get a couple of kai outta here before I came back to reality.... keep the mean vids coming my bro Chur chur
Here we call your "raw fish" Ceviche. It isn't exactly raw as the citrus cooks it. It all looks good, tho. I've got to try your method of smoking fish. I'll probably do it with Stripers.
Yeah, we call it raw fish here even though it's not really raw. I have seen a few recipes on ceviche and it looks really nice, will definitely give it a go.
