Awesome to watch mate! Tempura's about the only way to actually fry oily fish and have it turn out well, so good choice there! My advice: swap out 1/4 of the water in the recipe for vodka or replace the water completely with a light beer. The alcohol will keep the flour in the batter from thickening up, making for an even lighter and crunchier coating. I prefer to fry the skin separately as chips to eat alongside the fish. Keep up the awesome vids and stay safe!

Superior is no joke and you have to be mindful of when you go out. I've got caught in a storm they come on quick. When the waves came in I couldn't see over the crests when I was in the belly of the wave. That was the only time out of at least a hundred times out there that I ever felt in danger to be on the big lake. It isn't as dramatic as he leads you to believe. Also thats what the coast guard is for.

Hey Mav what’s up? Me and my wife watch all your videos 😀 so we decided to camp in our new Silverado that we bought, we never camped in our truck ever. We’re gonna do it next week, might make a video and post it on my channel. I’ll let you know how it goes. We don’t have a top for our truck bed so we rigged something up for inside the cab haha thanks for all your awesome videos makes us forget what’s going on in the world. Watching your intro about going out to the big water, get yourself a marine band radio with an 8 foot antenna mounted in that Ranger. In the event of an emergency you can contact the Coast Guard, or any other passing vessel or boat, on channel 16. They still work beyond the range of cell phones. Heck, even if you run out of gas you can call for help. It doesn't have to be a life or death situation. They're also used on Lake of The Woods and other big lakes. I have a Raytheon marine band radio in my boat. Nice peace of mind. They don't cost a lot, a couple hundred dollars or so. They even have weather band channels. You want the 8 foot antenna for maximum range which is about 25 miles, roughly. I'm sure there was someone within 25 miles of you out there with a radio on.

Mav a tip for taking skin off of keep your knife in the same spot and just pull the skin mabe with little wobble up and down you'll get the hang off it if you did not know try it

Hey mav....try salmon tempura if you haven't already...damn delicious..dip in shoyu (soy sauce) with rice and your good to go...add potato, string beans, shrimp and zucchini tempura as well. Works for me.

Just been watching one of my fav fisherman (Mat from fisherman's Life) and found your channel. Subbed to you now and catching up on what you do. So far impressive after only two vids. With different fishing techniques in Australia, I'm always encouraged by the different fishing in different countries. One thing I've learned already with my first time out on my boat is keep an ear out for that motor alarm, even though it was only on for a short time, it means usually, overheating and I will be checking my 'tell tale' in case of blockage, which could be anything from low oil, seaweed, to sand (as it was in my case ! ). I tried making a tempura from scratch but might change to powdered egg, since you got yours from a packet and it sounded great ! Now looking forward to watching your other videos. Thank you for making them.....surprised that you appear not to be subbed to Mats channel or linked to subscribed channel of his. Ty again and good luck with what you do.
