John is one of the most hard working anglers on and off the bank little do people know he also runs a successful scaffold company aswell as fishing at the top level yes i understand time are tuff but fishing can cost as much as you want it to hes not suggesting you have to buy the products hes using just what suits his style of margin fishing keep up the great work john on and off the bank
I like that Method of slapping the Worm to make it limp.I fished a tough water not long back and was fishing Lobworm right in the edge under an Overhang tree with Margin pole.I stuck at it all day because I knew that there was something big underneath there.I left that rig there for a lot longer than normally would then Bam.I hit a big double Mirror.Good Tip that is.Krill and Squid Groundbait is great with Maggots or casters fished over top too
Edge fishing can be simple as John states but not with that amount of bait, most of us that fish club matches or once a week do not have that much money at our disposal, I could not afford nearly a full tub of bait booster. Need to do something that shows what most anglers can use / afford, ie like Des he does appreciate what anglers need to know & not kick the back side out of it. come on John pull it in a bit for the everyday angler not just the sponsored ones. You used about 8 quids worth of bait booster just on one session, I’ve used the stuff you don’t need use anywhere near that much there’s bait company’s that make more potent and better bait boosters than that
Dear me some of the comments on here,John isn't suggesting go and spend 50/60 quid on bait,he's talking you through how HE attacks the edge at a top commercial during matches he fishes and demonstrated the big differences in techniques and tactics for different depths,I know John personally he's worked hard to achieve what he has so give him a break
Oh dear, lots of moaners about the cost of bait. You don't have to do it exactly the same - although I'm sure plenty would complain if you thought he'd held something back! You can use cheaper groundbait, and without the booster too (it helps make it heavy, but is not essential) hell, you could even use a cheaper sugary liquid available from a supermarket to add weight to the groundbait! You don't normally need all that bait but you could also just save up all the dregs of bags over the year and mix it all together and use that. We all know life is getting more expensive, and it's still possible to catch a lot of fish using a few tins of supermarket corn, but you can also do it this way IF you can afford it. I don't smoke (saves a fortune 🤪) and if I know I want a bit extra for bait I'll lay off the beer for a weekend or two as well. Seems to be more moaners on the bank nowadays than you'll find at a WI meeting 🤣
