Can never understand why fisheries ban elasticated feeders but you can fish the pole with stronger elastic Any Idea

My local fishery band elsasticated method feeders as well a few year ago they told me it's because if you get snaped the fish is still carrying the feed around in its mouth but a inline feeder doesn't it just falls to the pond floor

It’s all about fish welfare. A pole elastic doesn’t get anywhere near the fish, so is you snap the fish has a hook ( barbless I hope these days) to contend with, and of course 4-6 inches of hooklength line. However, if you snap your mainline whilst using an elasticated feeder rig the fish is unlikely to be able to rid itself of the 20 - 60 g weight … and once that becomes snagged it’s a slow death sentence for the fish. I think that is why many venues insist on the use of free running rigs, so should the line snap the fish can pull the line free from the feeder / weight.
