Absolutely agree the only thing that I would add as far as midd year walleye structure is to try and get on a place that nobody else is fishing stay away from the pressure of people

That is 100% true! Some of these fish get so used to baits by this time of year.

Yep! Been there. Many times I’ve said, along with countless others, “That’s why it’s called fishing and not catching.” The reviews on your website speak highly of you. I’d like to meet and fish with you someday. I do appreciate your efforts and tenacity. Keep up the good work.

Isn’t that the truth! Fishing can seem easy one day and impossible the next. I truly appreciate the kind words! Maybe we can make that happen someday.

You got a new subscriber for this video. Walleyes are my number one fish I struggle with and I’ve searched everywhere for videos that cover locations like this. You’re the only one I’ve found.

Applied the information about mid lake structure right after we had talked and found a spot on the lake that I was fishing and that was like going up to Red Lake! I ended up the second day with five walleye missed six of them. Such a blessing you have been in my life thank you brother.

Hey dude love the videos and I feel your pain! Lost my go pro, pickup needs new spark plugs, cats sick… but by god I’m still going fishing! What’s your opinion on targeting early evening walleye? I usually go to the 12-15 ft range and run a tika Minnow or a hammer head along side a dead stick and have had a little success. I should add I usually target flats during this time.

Appreciate it! Nothing likes the cold! Haha way to gut it out! Early evening walleye for me totally depends on the body of water. On some lakes, the area you described can be money! OtherwIse, I If you can find those transitions from their mid day areas to their evening areas it is usually a safe bet. Sometimes I’ll find a piece of structure and drill holes and follow the fish from deep to shallow as they move up the structure! Keep grinding!

Do you have any rods and rod actions that you recommend? Obviously for walleye
@tjsguideservice
@tjsguideservice 2 года назад
Depends on if you’re in the shack or not and what size fish you’re targeting. In the shack I like a 32-36” ML. If I’m outside running and gunning I like a 34-40” ML. If I know I’m going to target big fish I will sometimes go to a 34-43” M as well. I am starting to use the longest rod I can in order to have the most play and forgiveness

What depths do you usually look for early season and what depths for mid/late ice?
@tjsguideservice
@tjsguideservice 2 года назад
I would say it depends on the structure and lake. In general, I would say I’m looking at 8-20 feet early ice. And 15-30 mid to late ice.
