If you're not toprocking.. There's a difference between doing indian step variations and march steps * thats top rocking* but you're just popping and waving and housing without even using toprock steps then thats just not bboying.. you gotta hit those elements
I kinda disagree with Alien Ness'es vision of top rocking. He's wise, but if you do not "dance" before kicking the ground, you're a kind of acrobat not a breakDANCER. It is adding texture and yourself into toprocking, it is now a part of the culture and evolution of Breakdance. Just sharing my opinion, anybody could disagree. (Sorry for my english.)
Bro its not about ur understanding, its a history thing. Ppl been freestyle dancing or saying rocking for a long time, but if u use the word toprock, it's about the rock a bit and get down to the floor to do footwork. u sure can dance whatever u want and that's just called freestyle.

WITH BREAKING IT WAS REFERRED TO AS "BREAKING" BECAUSE THE BOUNDARIES WERE NEVER SET. NEXT LEVEL AND BEYOND. TO REGULATE IT TO ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF BEING DOPE AND SOMEWHAT EVOLUTIONARY ...IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE "DEFINITION" OF THE WORD PROFESSES TO BE.
