This song touched me because I was driving with my niece with me and we were hit by someone and my niece lost her life and she was only 12 years old, and I had just turned 18 years old, she passed away 3 days before her birthday. I'm a recovering addict, so I know about the cycle. I blamed myself for so long and used drugs to cover up the pain. Much love and appreciation from Kentucky ❤️🙏❤️

Hey, it's Becka. I am so sorry to hear about your niece. Congratulations on being in recovery! Do you think with recovery you have been able to find some sort of peace.

@@RealReactions yes recovery showed me it wasn't my fault, the woman hit us head on, people were amazed that I walked away with minor injuries. It still hurts but I can now put it where it goes. One day at a time!!!!! 8 yrs clean and counting. March will make 9 yrs. Using isn't worth it because I have so much to lose and I'm not talking about money. I have grandchildren that I love too much to lose them!! Thank you Becka for caring!!! Much love and appreciation from Kentucky ❤️🙏❤️

@ticamatthews thank you for being able to open up to us! I know a lot of people in recovery, and I have also dealt with my own addictions. Holding blame for one's passing is a very hard thing to live with. My ex died from a drug overdose. Some people put it on me because if I never left him, then he wouldn't have used again. My stepson passed away in a head-on collision this mothers Day. I couldn't let my son conner see him over the past 2 years because of something his biological father did, so I live with guilt ... trying to figure it all out still. Congrats on 9 years sober
