taemin along with gdragon really started the androgynous style in kpop. they got a lot of hate (especially gdragon) because of this but people are now finally accepting and appreciating it. this is taemin’s last comeback before his military enlistment. he had to make sure we remember him while he is gone lol
@@DasVERMiT I think I read that Giselle said they are releasing a full album this year which would mean they are going to have more music than Red Velvet got in their first two years, so I'm not getting angry yet, but if SM gives us another single I'm joining the warpath.

But that’s how SM is with their artist/groups. They love to do remake of either other artists’ song or one from their old artist/group. Taemin BEEN on his androgynous looks even before his solo career! It's more prominent in Sherlock, MOVE, and now ADVICE. This comeback is bitter-sweet because it's his last before enlisting, but I know that he will be back like he never left just like other Shinee members. P1HARMONY's comeback gets better the more you listen to it. Though I have to say their bsides Ayaya and If You Call Me are my favorite from the album :)
Art is Taemin! He never disappoints! And I think this song/lyrics are straight to Antis. He obviously spoke on behalf of celebrities, idol, everyone & himself who gets trolled for unnecessary reasons, I too released it after some people saying like this! The full album is lit 🔥❤ u should listen to it😊
All the Members of ONEUS actually sing and rap, so yeah Leedo singing and rapping voice are so different and awesome. Well, they say bebe (baby) in spanish, so they pronounced well. The song have really so many references to MJ: lyrics, choreography, style and outfits. Their live vocals, facial expressions and stage presence in live stages are INSANE and no joke.
Taemin is an absolute icon, musically and in terms of fashion. The Supreme outfit? The fishnet and lace knee highs? The cropped jacket and hoodie? I can't get over it. He's amazing.
I was thinking about the lyrics, and my theory for the lyric, "I destroy the torso that you were chasing after", is that Taemin always had a bit of an innocent, somewhat cute image because he was the youngest. I think alot of people were attracted to the innocent side of him, and liked him only because of the image that he had, and that they were more so chasing after the untouchable/untouched aura that he had, instead of him as a person or artist. In love with the idea of having him rather than in love with him. But, like in the lyrics for 'Pretty Boy', where he reiterates that, "I won't pretend to be innocent like a puppet", and "I may always seem pretty/good/nice/soft", I think by saying he 'destroyed the torso', it could mean, he now has tattoos on his torso, and so he is breaking away from the innocent image and becoming more than just what people labelled him as, more than just a "pretty boy idol". Since in some cultures, when people get tattoos, elders say that they destroyed their beautiful body. Perhaps Taemin is saying that he's destroyed that fantasy that people have of him, the innocent untouched image that was curated. And that destruction is symbolized by getting tattoos on his torso, essentially scarring what was once untouched/pure/pretty. Additionally, I think 'Advice' is a sequel to his song 'Pretty Boy' in a way, with lyrics around perception and judgement, e.g, "Rumors and Interceptions", "Everyone talks so easily", and "I'm above the imaginations in your head" (P.B) .vs. "Show your imagination in a more novel way" (Adv).

This piano is similar to the one Taemin has at home. He's a classical pianist. He said recently; 'I want people to see the piano and think of me, that this is the instrument that's closest to my heart and personality'. He's had tattoos for a while, but SM covers them all the time. I feel as he logs off his shift, and as he returns in 2 years time, he won't be bound by any SM regulations, if they want to keep him. Taemin just doesn't know how to disappoint. He is the ONLY kpop artist, whos songs are ALL my style.
Taemin is art. 👌 And yes, there is an EP with 5 songs. I love the songs. The only one that I'm not the fan of is the one with Taeyeon, but still, fantastic EP once again.
Don’t get me wrong now, the taemin video is a masterpiece. The song is personally not my style, like I don’t see myself listening to it often. (Might grow in me more) BUT that does not mean that I don’t see the value in this song. The music video overall, every aspect, is insane. The choreo is crazy, outfits too. The directing of the video is spectacular. This is one of my favourite mv’s of the year (maybe all time) 👏🏻🔥 Taemin is one of my all time favourite artists
Taemin goes SO hard. He's heavily involved in his artistry and the viewer can clearly tell. He's incredibly talented and innovative with his craft. I'm so proud of him. Like, even if you don't stan SHINEE or Taemin, you're still enthralled by his vocals, his choreographies, and his personality. It's gonna be catastrophic when he enlists.
And ONEUS are called Stage Geniuses and now representative performers of 4th gen kpop. They always do different concepts, genres and nailed every time. Even participated in the lyrics, composition and made their own choreographies since predebut. All rounder artists!
Actually, Taemin isn't wearing a sports bra, its a long sleeve Supreme crop top. BUT MANNNNNN, HE DID NOT COME TO PLAY! He made me lose my freaking mind with this release! Advice is incredible!!!!
I don't follow EVERY supreme drop, but i'm almost 100% sure that that's a sports bra due to the banding at the bottom. i've never seen them release a crop top that had an elastic banding at the hem - advice is incredible! glad we both enjoyed it!
@@anthonytoo no worries! A stylist shared the info on that particular outfit and confirmed it was the long sleeved version. Of course if you examine the video (I had to know, lol), when Tae dances the sweater does lift up but you don’t see his armpit or anything. Regardless, he is rocking a ladies made top. 🔥 I have both versions in black haha.
even a couple years ago, just as a credible source, it was in the “WANT” era taemin wanted to make music n a concept that was genderless (as he said in a video he did a few days ago.) i think that’s why i feel so overwhelmingly attracted to his music n just his energy bc there is no box or type of shape for him. he’s showin it more bluntly in this mv n i’m fuckin obsessed w it man 🧚🏾♀️
When I first listened to Advice (my first Taemin song) I replayed it like 18 times I could not stop listening to this lol. I cannot believe I just discovered him he’s absolutely incredible
Let me clarify something here, AESPA is read as "Eh-spa" in Korean (에스파). But for some reason they made "ae" in the SMCU to be pronounced as "I/eye" (maybe to make it sound more like "A.I."?). 'Next Level' is just a 2 part song divided into 3 sections (1-2-1). The "lalalalalala" and volcano part actually made sense music element wise, I don't hear anything weird about it unlike the beatdrop part which is like another song but it's pretty common among SM groups. I hope this helps.
Honestly I loved this aespa comeback, gave me I Got A Boy x Zimzalabim feels. Also the now legendary Yoo Young Jin R&B touch is very palpable in this track and i fcking love that. (+Run Devil Run since it's an already iconic remake) Edit: aespa really remind me of early exo when it comes to the in your face concept. They'll make it more subtle soon I'm pretty sure, juste like exo did. So I'm not really worried abt that for now. It's only their first (true) comeback, let's give them time to put themselves on the map. I'll personally enjoy the ride as a casual listener 'till then.

Twice jihyo also known god jihyo was -Leader of twice - Main vocal - The longest trainee of jyp ent which 10 years. She also debut in the line up of 6mix before twice survival show sixteen,she was main dancer in the lineup of 6mix. But 6mix didnt debut.

You're right in saying that you thought you'd seen Leedo rapping! He's the main rapper and a sub-vocalist for ONEUS. Even though he's a rapper, he's extremely good at singing, too. His duality is no joke;; Also you watching Taemin's Advice was great. He's really did that! You're also right in that this is his last release before he enlists. We'll miss Taemin, but you know whatever he drops when he gets back will be worth the wait.
PLEASE let me talk about my favourite aspects of the 'advice' music video for a second. the song, at it’s core, is about being taken for granted and being misunderstood to the extent that you’re forced to be something you aren’t. this song is, maybe obviously, about how shit being an idol is. the video starts with taemin bruised, smudged, and masked, playing the piano. his hands are blackened, like touching the keys, playing the music, acting the part, is ruining him, rotting him. remember this, and how he is presented visually here, in contrast to the other taemin’s we see in the video. moving to the chorus, and the 'i'll ruin the torso you want' lyric: korean stans of male idols will always whine and beg to see abs. korean stans don't like tattoos. taemin tatted his torso and thus, ruined the clean, clear image of himself, and ruins what they want from him. the scenes of him wearing the mask (signifying hiding and 'the veil' he talks about between his real and idol selves) has him with even more tattoos than he has in real life, further hammering home the point. torso = 'ruined'. after the first chorus, we get the 'keys to his lock' and see his real self, his mind and his internal being. take note of the tartan outfit he's wearing here. his real self is in a room that’s clearly too small for him and he looks uncomfortable. he’s boxed in, and mentally almost claustrophobic. hiding his real personality is getting tiring. then, his real self (who you can follow due to the consistent costuming: the tartan) commits metaphorical suicide. we see him crash a car in this outfit, and we see him dancing in front of a crashed car earlier and later in the video, just without the suit jacket. this is what makes clear his death is metaphorical: he's made a mess, caused trouble, tarnished himself, but he's still alive. his real self is still alive. REMEMBER THIS! THEN, at the beginning of the bridge, idol him (also obvious via the consistent costuming (the white pants with the ribbons and the snake skin (?) jacket) is shown in a heaven-like setting, floating in a dreamy, light-coloured, bright space; a space which sticks out like a sore thumb against the dreary backdrop of the rest of the video. ALMOST LIKE , the IDOL HIM has died INSTEAD of the REAL HIM who CRASHED THE CAR!!!!!!!!!! INTERESTINGLY, and this is my favourite part, i think this is meant to convey how idols try so hard to be perfect and idyllic (as occupation name suggests: they're meant to be idolised as perfect people), controversy in idols' personal lives ALWAYS directly ruins their careers (think b.i. getting kicked out of ikon for that scandal in his personal life, think wonho getting kicked out of monsta x for that scandal in his personal life, think hyuna and dawn getting kicked out of cube for that scandal in their personal lives!!!!!!!!!!! and there's billions of more examples too). in this video, Taemin Ruins His Personal LIFE So That He CAN KILL his IDOL SELF. SO THAT he can kill the perfect him people are forcing him to be!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO that he doesn't have to be misunderstood anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes king bitch give us STORYLINE) this whole theory is proved by the panning shot we see, where established idol him turns into established real him, just before the last chorus. and, to bring it all full circle, we start the video with the hidden, masked, ruined him playing the piano, and end up with the idol him finding the piano in the dreamy, heaven space. he finds the music. and the music is the only thing his selves have in common. taemin isn't his idol self. he isn't the perfect, clean, cookie-cutter, spotless, idol the media wants him to be. and if he has to sacrifice his personal life, if he has to be controversial, to ruin his idol life and stop the scrutiny, to make people uninterested in him so he can be finally live freely with the music, then he clearly will. INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and rest.
glad you enjoyed advice so much! I've been away from kpop for awhile but I caught up recently and it absolutely blew me away. the trap style is so different from his usual sensual vocals on want, criminal, move, etc. but it's still so HIM and I'm so impressed by his artistic developement. it's my favorite song by him so far and possibly my favorite kpop song of the entire year. the song is so unique, the video and styling are on point, and he looks GOOD.
I felt weird too, but after several listenings I found myself dancing hard to "Next Level". And Yes Im afraid SM will make Aespa music just to "Fit" the concept stroy while we want a pure music and genuine lyrics. But I guess SM will Balances that. Aespa's full album is rumoured to released this year I hope its Great~ Taemin's song is fireee.. SM is unstoppable
Yeah. Next level grows on me. I feel like it gives this "new" 2nd gen era vibes especially f(x) to me and i love it. I just hope that they will just "fit" the concept to their title tracks, not their bsides in the future. The girls have so much potential. Well, what else can I say about Taemin? HE'S LEE TAEMIN. 👑
Scared is definitely a song that needs some time to sink in but gets really addictive later on. I love how different it sounds from anything I’ve ever heard.

TAEMIN represents what cannot be precisely defined in the approach to gender and role play in the MV music video, and the choreography is so multidimensional and unpredictable that it is difficult to classify it into a specific genre. I really agree with you about aespa’s lyrics! it’s hard to find a connection to any of their songs bc the lyrics are all about their concept but in an informational way? like I’ve seen groups make songs about their concepts but they still manage to incorporate sentiment or storytelling or even create a double meaning to it, but with aespa it’s very just,, yeah. I also didn’t like the song bc of how jarring it is and it reminds of zimzalabim(?) by rv & I got a boy by snsd which are two of my least favorite kpop songs of all time 😂 but maybe I’m biased bc my style usually doesn’t match with most of sm’s music in general
honestly wasn’t sure how I felt about as a red either but two listens later I was absolutely hooked, the chorus is amazingggg the placement of the lyrics were so clever, without that I think it would be a lot less interesting, plus the choreo is super super good. and jihyo ATE THAT UP she knows she’s a GOD with her crown her voice was beautiful and that choreo went so hard she KILLED IT KILLED IT I’m waiting for twice to have harder choreo like that one day 🤩
you're right about oneus leedo is one of the rappers in the group I was so shook seeing him sing his ass off in this song. also taemin and baekhyun have the song of the year for me really like I don't think anything can beat bambi and advice tbh they really killed us and went the military. the bts teaser looks fire. i still don't know how to feel about the next level tbh but the main part is stuck in my head. p1harmoney as slayed as always. man as always you give us the best reactions thanks. i would love to see more of these videos.
The fact that aespa got 50+ million views while taemin's stuck at 10 mill really makes me sad. People now a days don't look for artistry, lyrics any more. They just need a beat to vibe to.
The Aespa song has me confused. The first two changes were somewhat cohesive but by the time they got to the last one, before they went back to the beginning just turned to a clash of sounds and tempos.
