I think it's interesting that he has so many white fans. It's good. Because he's an R&B/Pop singer. I really hope his record company doesn't try to take him from his R&B and soul roots. I say roots because that has always seemed what he gravitates toward. But his voice is versatile. I'm sure he could even do country.
