Shellfish allergies and allergies to food seem to be common in the west but not in Ghana. Here in Ada, fried clams r the most popular street food. A majority of locals used this as the ‘meat’ in most of their dishes. Does anyone have any theories as to why allergies are not as common here? Don’t forget to LIKE SHARE and Subscribe ❤️❤️

IT IS BECAUSE THE PEOPLE OF ADA HAD BEEN EATEN CLAMS FOR GENERATIONS SO THEIR GENES IS USED TO CLAMS AND THESE SAME GENES HAD BEEN PASSED ON TO THE CURRENT PEOPLE OF ADA.........

I'm gonna buy some clams now lol. The allergies are probably not common because the people eating it from a young age so their bodies are accustomed . But in Trinidad here in the Caribbean we have alot of allergies to shell food.

We probably have these allergies but we’re too busy enjoying to notice😂. I know I’ve had reactions to stuff but I don’t think too deeply about what caused it, the body heals quickly enough anyway. Unless of course it’s the life and death type allergy situation. Nothing scientific about this view tho😂. But I’d Like to think we’ve adapted
@GeeBee212
@GeeBee212 3 года назад
I think that it may have a hereditary component coupled with environmental exposure. My mother's family is from the South Carolina Low Country and Sea Islands here in the US. I don't have any family on that side with shellfish allergies. Seafood was and still is an important part of the diet in that region. Eating it while pregnant and introducing it into the diet of children at young age probably wards off at the allergy.

A gift of nature, fresh seafood from the bottom of the river untouched by chemicals. The river there could be salt water or fresh water depending on its proximity to the ocean as the Volta river flows into the Atlantic Ocean from that vicinity. Captivating scenery, the beauty to be behold. This is what the do nothing tourism board should be doing for their sumptuous salary and other perks, promoting Ghana’s tourism resources all across the nation and showing how many communities survive economically, also the diversity of Ghanaian culture. This is another banger by Jasmine, a consummate vlogger 😻😻

@@JasmineAmaa All hands on deck to remove these degrading words handed down from slavery and colonial past. The most educated Ghanaian continue to use terminologies, such as, “boys quarters” and “ my master”! Boys quarters was used for black men since they were never equal to their white male owner. Staff quarters or guest house is more appropriate!
@globalcetzen5271
@globalcetzen5271 3 года назад
@@stanleyglover5534 I agree with you about those words but ‘Master ‘ was originally used by Afrikans to denote an expert in a trade or craft. For example #MasterMason ...,#MasterWoodworker #MasterCraftsman ... #MasterHunter etc... When the Oppressor met our Ancestors, they translated many of our ethnic/cultural titles into their languages, which we adopted to strengthen communication. But we must admit that many such as ‘Boys’ Quarters, are self deprecating to our very existence. I also know that male Ghanaians use ‘Massa’ to mockingly flatter one another or ridicule another Ghanaian acting like the colonialist/imperialist. Female Ghanaians also use the mock title for pompous and difficult males...hahahahaha...😀 Anyway I agree that we must replace these words with our own languages, which are more prestigious than those of the West...✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
