Catching DOUBLE DIGIT GIANTS in Nebraska Waters!!! (Home of the BIGGINS!!) 

I have had several fish mounted with some pictures and a few measurements of the fish is all you need for a taxidermist to mount that fish and you could have returned that walleye to continue reproducing .. just some thoughts. That was a giant for sure..

I live I Florida where we obviously don't have Walleye, but when we went to Minnesota, my cousin caught a 7' 13 oz Walleye and that was the biggest story around that small town they lived in. All the neighbors came to see it. Wanted to know where he caught it, what bait, line, hooks, method, sinker style. Like Usual Suspects level of questioning. Of course he caught it on jig with half a leech coming off the hook and nobody believed him. But we went out the next day and he went to the tackle shop who said she was out-of the jig he used...they had been sitting there for years and he bought them because it was 75% off, and they only had 1 bucket of leeches left. She saved it for us because she knew we would be coming in. Then we looked at the other tackle he said he used, they had bought that stuff too. So they went from 'Oh you're fibbing Mark, you know. You betcha that ain't what you were using. You're spoofing us!' To buying everything he said he used. Walleye fishermen are the best ever.

Str8 killing it! I live in Denver. It's been a while since we've made our way to Big Mac at the Nebraska border. We'll have to remedy that

If any of your viewers are looking to fish and fishery that ON FIRE at the moment for Walleye. Then make a trip to the South Shore of Lake Erie Any where from the Western End from Port Clinton all the way to Buffalo,NY. You can target any size of fish you are looking for from legal size to 30+inch PIGS. Currently we are catching 20" -30" Fish out of Fairport Harbor about 4 miles out trolling spoons and crawler harnesses. But if you can get the bait down in front of them 40' area. There bitting on ANYTHING thats infront of them. We typically run Medium size Stinger spoons behind the large Diddy at 1 to 1.3 mph. And there's also Steele's mixed in if you travel a little further out. Currently we are catching a 3 man limit (18 fish) in about 2-3 hours. Sometimes less, if you can weed threw non legal fish (15 and up are legal) Then you can significantly cut your time on the water down. But ill warn you, There MILLIONS of undersized little guys in these MASSIVE schools that are feeding on baits 2/3rds of the size they are. Which just shows you how much of a predator fish they are. Anyone can feel free to respond to this post and I can pass on information to get you what you need to come and experience catching Walleye in the Walleye Capitol of the World, Lake Erie.

Sorry but I’m not completely convinced Nebraska is the home of giants, when Minnesota, Wisconsin and A host of of that’s near Lake Erie. I’m sure they have big ones there also but if you truly want to have a unforgettable trip go to Erie, or the bay of Green Bay between Wisconsin and Michigan. Loads of 10# plus fish, the average 24-25” on the bay, Erie more like 26-27” are considered cookie cutters. I really enjoy your show so don’t take this personally. Just hit those lakes and you will get great footage for your channel also:)

You don’t need the fish to mount it. Take a lot of pictures measurements of belly and length. You might as well eat it. They don’t use any of the fish

Walleye is a lot better eating than Paddlefish.
