I have used bait to catch crabs, I have used bait to catch crawfish but I've never even thought about baiting for shrimp. My Podna ‪@OutsidetheLevees‬ and I took some cans of dog food down to the water to catch some shrimp and the results were unbelievable!

It was the pineapple...it is a meat tenderizer. You can't use pineapple or papaya with shrimp.

I get just as excited as you when I get to throw the cast net. Especially when the shrimp are running. Kabobs looked great. We do them very similar. Good times buddy!🦐

Man Vinnie you and Jared are catching some Beautiful shrimp, been wanting to tell y'all about the dog food bait for shrimp, in the 70s and 80s we use Kam and Kenlration dog for also don't know if you remember drive ways made with those small clam shells we did use those little clams for bait to the were the best use to crack them out in a small sack tie a rope around them throw it out we got them clams from lake Leary right there where y'all throwing the cast nets, nor the dog food we would form some balls with some and throw them out and put holes in the can throw it out with a line tied to it to keep them going the balls we formed would get them going strong good videos tks this old man did all that stuff tks man really enjoy the videos.

I hit that spot all the time for shrimp and crabs. Never fails me. Them shrimp at the end of the video got mushy cuz you marinated it with pineapple. It’s a strong tenderizer and should only be used to tenderize meats (where it works wonders). Shrimp are too soft of flesh. Next time leave it out.

pineapple juice is extremely acidic, and a meat destroyer. it can turn pork into paste, i found out the hard way 😂

Very good video, man! I love this type of content! Someone already mentioned that it was the pineapple and he's 100% right. I've seen some youtube chefs marinate cheap (tough) steaks in pineapple and it does an incredible job at tenderizing them. It doesn't even take that long, like an hour.

Love me some kababs. When I do shrimp I always do them by them selves with very little seasoning, and with the veggies I love some smoked sausage and/or chicken they all take about the same cook time but the shrimp doesn't take that long. Learned that one the hard way..lol. Great video brother, can't wait for the next one.

Vinny. Before you were born, we used to use dog food to catch shrimp with a cast net. We would fill clam shells with dog food and cover a larger area where we would cast.
