always a tough thing to be "honest" with distance that really why i focus on ball speed because distance is so easily manipulated day to day. temp +5 - 5 for every 20 over or below 70. wind. slope. and thats before ball and shaft and head setup. peeps get a little too rough rough with their estimates lol. if you homies get out to okc lets hang or fight, or have margaritas or all 3.
I have a small printed, laminated strip of paper hooked onto my golf bag with all my distances from driver to lob wedge. Distances I’ve gathered from numerous visits to an indoor golf range with a GC Quad. It’s a great baseline and way to optimize your driver with tweaks. I have a club head speed that averages out to 108 MPH with a carry distance of 265 and total distance of 275. I can usually crank it up to 110 MPH if needed, but my chances of hitting the fairway drops quite a bit. Go out and learn your yardages. It will help you play better golf with better course management.
@@AlastairBarker how much roll do you get? 30 yards? Plus I’m in Northern California where conditions are usually soft. If you knew anything about golf, it all revolves around conditions and altitude. So yes, I don’t get much roll out as I would if I were playing a firm course in the desert.
They are flight restricted balls and you are forced to hit off a tee thats one height only which can impact the quality of strike. Those are the only two valid excuses I'd say
These devices determine distance by ball speed, launch angle and spin off the club head. It doesn’t track it after 10 yards so having a restricted flight ball won’t lower the numbers by much if at all. The tee could affect the numbers slightly by not offering optimal conditions.
I’d say they’re mostly pretty honest. You never hit as far at the range, and if you don’t go to the range often it’s hard to know how far your drive is. One hole you might push 300 another hole you can’t hit 250, wind uphill, downhill, roll out, etc can help you or hurt you. It makes it hard to know.
You could open these videos with a preview of 4 guys swings, ask the viewers "who hits it the longest" & then show the swings. I'd never pick the right one.
Averaging 270 for a weekend warrior golfer is not bad at all. I think with social media everyone thinks a good golfer is ripping 300 yard drives like it’s nothing. I’m willing to bet 1% of golfers are doing that. But if you ask every 25 year old who’s been playing for 2 years is hitting 300.
Doesnt the radar require to be at the same elevation of the ball to give accurate numbers? the golfers are hitting from a thick mat, the rapsodo instead is on the concrete level.
thanks for the reply@@divotdudes I have built a golf simulator and use a Garmin R10, if the Garmin is not at the same elevation as the ball I get shorter numbers! Must be different systems.
not accurate..those launch monitors are pure lies junk...we've tested them with 3 different rangefinders with people standing point to point and measured they don't give correct numbers Sorry homie!! They are Only good for getting consistent swing, smash factor is where its at and counts... plus swing speed will only get you distance if your swing is in sequence and clicking, keep that left elbow tight
Quit being cheap and give them a couple of random golf to hit instead of range balls. They don't have to be Pro-V. I have a hundred golf balls in my garage if you need them geez
