Also fun fact: Fused Kyurem and Fused Necrozma are uncatchable. The only fused Pokémon that can be caught through normal gameplay is Rider Calyrex in the Crown Tundra.

I only catch Pokémon in normal pokeballs whenever possible. Its something ive always done since i was a kid. It just always felt cooler to have a super rare or high level pokemon in a basic pokeball. Made me feel more like i was in the anime.

I can relate to this. I always come prepare, beat the legendary near death and keep just alive enough to catch him (I use the quick at the first turn of course). And if the legendary somehow commit suicide or dies otherwise, I just reload my save file before encountering the legendary. However, I usally have the masterball but only use it if I am tired and desperate. Otherwise, I will try again and again until they finally submit to their new master.

I only ever used the master ball on Ho-Oh in Heart Gold. And that was because it’s for moves only had 5PP so it would knock itself out pretty quick using struggle. Otherwise I never used the master ball. Now I’ve got four in my copy of violet from surprise trade hacks.

As a kid, I was able to capture Thundurus with a quick ball in Pokémon White. No damage inflicted, no status effects. I used a quick ball on my first encounter with him and caught him instantly. Plus I did it in front of a friend that was teaching me how to play Pokémon.
