Catching Perch at Meadow Grounds "Lake"

Eldon takes the boys out on the former Meadow Grounds Lake to catch some perch and sunfish. Meadow Grounds Lake was drained because of safety issues with the Dam, but a pond remains at the bottom of the basin, and it still holds fish.
All fish were caught on night-crawlers on meal worms, with the exception of one perch that was caught on a minnow-imitating lure.

We drove up there just a week ago. We didn't do any fishing, but the water is up, and it looks so good.

It was a nice place to fish when it was filled, I live about 15 mins from there, have you caught anything other then perch and Sunny's in the "pond"?

+firefighterduck2 So far I haven't. When the lake was full, there were many other species including bass, pike, and walleye. I don't know if any of them survived. When the lake was drained, the remaining water became very muddy from sediment washing into it, and the assumption was that most of the fish would die, but obviously that's not true for every species.

Yeah when it was full it had bass, pike, musky, catfish, walleye, sunny, perch, I was up there the last few days that they were moving fish, then they dug a hole and dumped the rest of the fish in it, there was a few state record Fish that went in to that hole... funny thing about that place is that the damn has been leaking since the place was built, was never a problem before
