Hiya Big Fishing Energy, great fishing & good vid, wondering if you can answer a Q from me please? I`m from Ireland but now been in Castleford a while back & forth from home, The River Aire looks a great river to fish but my prob is where & the legalities. For instance i have bought a `Rod licence` so can i fish the river Aire here in Cass with that alone? Or is there more to it? I suspect yes? Will i need perhaps a daily permit type pass? weekly monthly? Or who & where in Cass will be able to put me on the straight & narrow.. & hopefully legal? Yours.. Wandering Angler. Ta..
Hi mate, the river near the town centre where the new bridge is is free fishing below the weir so you’d be alright to fish down there with just your rod license. I know most people use ground bait cage feeders and maggots to fish that bit of river, casting into the middle they tend to do well
