ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RU-vid and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

I have sent a complaint to youtube about demonetizing farmers like Cammy and Lizzie vlogs. "Stop demonetizing farmers showing the normal and natural activities around the farm. Animals are going to copulate, give birth natural and surgically to live or dead babies, animal get sick, injured and die. This is all normal and natural. When I chose to watch farming vlogs I accept and understand what I am going to watch. The farmers are doing their work ethically morally respectfully intelligently with professional support by a vet. They deserve their monetization for their work. If people can't watch nature then don't click on the video. I too have complained about this to youtube, very similar words. If there was any abuse or cruelty then I could understand it, but as you say its normal natural life and should be kept in his vlogs for educational purposes.

Cammy, i love your videos because you have the best attitude, even when things arent going ok. You just stay calm, keep going. Its marvelous. I was a critical care nurse and you would have been great on the team. You are an ideal teacher here, showing how to handle all the serious sides to life. Lizzie shows a similar strength, a quiet strength. You are quite a team.

Sheep have lambed outdoors for centuries. It is their natural environment. It is a cleaner setting for them to lamb on grass, rather than indoors, in most cases. Weather cannot be predicted, but that is the case in any type of shepherding, farming, or ranching. And the cost of an indoor confinement for that number of sheep would be astronomical! Few shepherds could afford it. They would “go under”.

Cammy, On lambs like that one that kept "rooting" (searching for the teat) high up on the bag, try kneeling their front legs under the bag. When they reach their head up it should be close to teat height. So basically, teach them to kneel and their rooting reflex 'should' do the hard work for you. Hope this helps with your back and your sanity!😘

Hi Cammy, I appreciate your vlog so very much. I am a novel shepherd now 14 years with an extremely small flock of only 10 lambing this spring. I am retired and on my own, so I try to keep the work manageable. I agree with other folks, your vlog should be allowed to show all you are doing with no censor, if folks are uncomfortable, then this vlog is not for them. It is all part of REAL life and death, which is reality! Anyway, please be encouraged and know that you and your family and your team are so very much appreciated. Great work in difficult conditions you are not alone , we had to rehouse all doubles on Sunday and everybody is sick of this weather. I may be wrong but I think the term fly tipping comes from the use of a very fast and well sprung carriage during the Regency period and was known as a ' fly by night ' carriage used by Dandy gentlemen to scoot down to Brighton for the fun of the fair, but when driven at high speed on uneven roads would caturpult it occupants out and over the ditch. Cammy, vets on Google say it's vital to give dextrose intraperoneal before warming up hypoglycemic lambs. I know I'm being a pain in the a$$ but I've been watching Sandi do that for 4 years. It's identical to what you have to do w/newborn humans so their brain gets the glucose it needs to keep respiratory centre going.Takes too long for colostrum to get digested so glucose gets to brain. Only wishing you every success (bossy retired nurse) 💕💕💕💕

Started to get the parents into your channel about Xmas (me and my mum listen to the Fed podcast every week driving into town) our nightly ritual is now sitting down together to watch your lambing vlogs over our dinner! In New England, USA and no, people do not dump garbage. Maybe a bottle or can you see but never a load like that. In the countryside where I live, that would probably make the local newspaper and the police would investigate.

In the last 25 years I can probably count on one hand the # of times I have seen stuff dumped on the side of the road in the country. It helps to have community garbage dumps that are free or perhaps free for spring clean-up 🇨🇦

Appreciate you sharing the efforts Cammy. The tipping isn't as bad in our area not having the same ditch depth. Farmers would see blowing across the field. We have volunteers to pickup anything small or prison workers. The fines are high and most have game cameras looking for coyote or wild dogs. Rest well and hope today started better than expected.

In my part of Canada we see more bags that have blown out of the back of a truck or some such. Less of actual loads of garbage being dumped in a ditch. Maybe it has to do with fees for dumping at the garbage dump? It cost us $8 for a full pickup load at our local dump. Great video and i know exactly how you feel trying to get those lambs sucking. It can be so frustrating! Keep on trucking, we're all rooting for you guys!

Another great job well done Cammy! You’re amazing as always. Here is the US we call it “dumping” or littering but littering is more like you just throw maybe a wrapper or 2 or something small, dumping is more where they dispose of a larger amount.

Cammy the nails should go through the ridges rather than the furrows on the roofing. That way the timber underneath hopefully won’t rot. RU-vid is simply looking for a reason to cancel revenue in order to pay less. They don’t cancel some similar channels. Meanwhile I am watching Cannon Hall Farm on national telly showing farm birthings.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching your content Cammy. I found you actually threw Farmer Ben at Dalscone when he did the podcast with you so I’ve watched all your videos on catch up. I love how you interact with your nephews and get them out working. it was so great to see your one nephew how he enjoys pulling lambs that was awesome. Just shows the bond you have with the kids also in regards to your fly tipping. I am from Alberta Canada and we get a lot of that especially out on the country roads not so much here in the city, but people will drive out of the city limits here in Calgary and out on the dirt roads which is annoying for the farmers because they end up being the ones that have to pick it up and pay the dumping fees which is totally not fair so I believe it’s probably everywhere not just with you guys if people have to pay for something to dump, they would rather just take it out to city limits and find somewhere else to dump it 😔

I'm in the US on a small road with two houses and a state park boat access area, and people toss trash out their car windows constantly. I could pick up a full bin every week. At least half of it is beer cans/bottles which makes me a bit worried about folks drinking & driving. I am very tempted to set up trail cameras to try to catch them in the act 😆 (don't think it's allowed though hah)

We call it littering in America when people throw there trash out. And it’s illegal but ppl still do it. Sometimes you will see people going with bags and picking up the trash along highways. And they’ll have people do that also sometimes if they got in trouble with the law and have to volunteer as part of there legal plea agreement. I hate when ppl think they can just go and leave there mess for someone else. Sorry u have to deal with that! Love your channel!!! I love that you are so amazing with children and animals. RU-vid has gone mad with demonetizing your videos. When I see some of the other things on here it doesn't make sense. I have sent a complaint as well as others, but I also bought t-shirts for my wife and myself and made a wee payment to you as well. If others try to do the same, it will hopefully offset any loss you have until hopefully the sensors come to their senses. Keep up the hard work and entertainment we all enjoy. 🐑🐑🐑

I live in a big city and the litter build up is depressing. I had thought humanity was worse than in past but then I watch archaeological digs and they seek out litter dumps (middens) around every village as a source of info. Roman’s were the worst literers and now it’s a thrill to find their trash. Sad to live in it when the world is so pretty but humans are and have always been slovenly as a whole. 😢 seeing you with your nephew brought joy. So lovely they get to spend time there being useful and learning AND making you smile. 😊

Grew up in the countryside in Illinois, an hour from a small city and about 3 hours from a major city. Corn and bean fields with some Red Poll cattle fields. I don't ever remember seeing sights of fly tipping. but then most bigger towns have a tip you can easily go to and dump or you can rent a dumpster easy from your local municipal waste company. There's also people who you can find on classified ads that will haul junk for you. But I'm sure maybe it happens in some other places.

Watching from Denmark. No fly tipping here. It isn't necessary. We have yards for tipping rubbish for free. The municipality also picks up from homes.

25:46 in the US, people will dump their trash anywhere they can and it’s annoying because there are literally places designated where they can dump it instead they’ll dump it in someone’s yard

Hi Tammy I like your show. Just so you know as a former Brain imaging scientist ...the way you wear your helmet will not protect your frontal cortex should you have tumble. You gotta pull that down over your forbad to give you some real protection. Same for your own little ones. Sending warm greetings
