Hello children! Sorry for the late upload, the past two weeks have been super tough academically and I couldn't get a video out by last Monday. Today's video is longer than I expected it to be to try and make up for that lost time. I am going in places all over South Florida, all throughout different habitats in search of the regions incredible diversity of Grasshoppers. I find so many species, as well as some species with multiple color phases, and get so many amazing in-hand shots. Enjoy this one.

Thanks for enjoying the video. I barely even scratched the surface of Florida's incredible orthoptera diversity though, and they are a group I plan on filming more often.

!!!Update for anyone who sees this!!! The strange color morph American Bird Grasshopper I pointed out at the end of the video was actually recently confirmed as a US first record Schistocerca pallens! Recent research done by grasshopper researchers Brandon Woo and Hojun Song at Archbold Biological Station in Central FL showed the presence of this speces in limited numbers in Central FL, leading me to reevaluate my recent grasshopper IDs. Sure enough, I pulled out this old record and it was a pallens, not only a first record for South FL but all of the US! The ID of pallens was confirmed by the researchers themselves after my initial ID
