Launched early Saturday morning in hopes of once again getting a limit but was sadly mistaken. Pull 8 before the rains moved in, got pretty much soaked cause we didn't bring rain gear, so we headed on in. Bandits 40-60 back 25fow 1.8 mph

The mic thing plaques me to this day. Rode has a dual mic system I'm looking into getting.

We were out there also in the rain, didn't care much for the lightning.

My son and I got caught in the storm south of Kellys. We got set up early before the storm hooking up with 3 nice 22 inchers 30 back on bandit fruit dot before the rain started, and then the storm hit with the lightning. Really wished we weren't out there in the lightning, but had no clue it was suppose to storm like it did. The bite died for about an hour, and then we hooked up with 4 more just east of the island on blue chrome and sunspot all high again. We finished up just west of Kelly Island Shoal 60-80 back. All in all a good day with a shaky start.

Man that storm over by Kelly's just seemed to linger on and on and on! The storm back to the west towards davis bessie just seemed to linger around and get bigger. Thats why we just left.

Ed Cummings vinyl replacement net from janns netcraft. The handle is an old handle i had in the barn, not shure what brand. I just bought the right size from jans and put it on.

We were North of Kelley’s at 6. Got soaked, but put a 2-man limit in the boat and got back to Mazurik by 8. Seemed like the rain was just sitting on top of us.

Hey Tom, I was wondering if you would share what counter reels you use. I'm having trouble with one of four reels. I know you get what you pay for. I bought Cabelas depth master combo's which are cheap. I got these for starters and didn't know if I would like trolling which I love to do.I think it's time and a want to upgrade the reels. What would be your choice of upgrade reel? Sorry for all the questions. I've learned so much just from watching your videos. I wished I had started this years ago. Thanks.

We started out using diawa lc27's for many many years. Those reels held up to the abuse for like 15 years and are still good today but they dont have the power for fishing big open water trolling setups. We won a couple okuma convector cv30's about 8 years ago at a tourny and started using them instead. There was a huge difference between the two reels while cranking in those boards and lures all day long. Now we use all okuma's convector cv30's with 2 of the newer okuma coldwater 303 reels that feel even better. My choice would be coldwaters 303's hands down with the convector cv30 2nd

Hi Tom, what clips are you using on your boards? I am having trouble with a new board and need to replace the clip, made adjustments on it and still having problems. Appreciate all your videos!

Or 18 snapper release, we wrap it around once then snap it closed. If i dont do this when fishing in rougher water the boards will slip down the line while using braided line. Been fishing this way for 30 years and haven't yet have a board come off

So many people have asked that same question. I figured nobody was watching or paying any attention to the vids but apparently not. I've switched up boats started a charter service and have been busy every since. Ive almost got the feel of the new boat so i guess I'll add in the video camera's. Its alot of work when you add cameras to a boat but I'll get back to it

@@TCSOUTDOORS Tom your videos have taught us many thing’s…The passion you have and your demeanor seem to be impeccable your never cocky you don’t block stuff out, you share information with us and your just one of us doing what you love.. the times you share with whom I’m assuming are your dad are cool to watch.keep up the good work and next time your coming to the central basin or East let me know. Your welcome to come visit and or park your rig here. I’m 20 minutes from Cleveland lake front. And I camp on the east side of the lake. Would love to meet you some time. Tight lines. Hopefully see you during the fall brawl or sooner.

I'm curious who makes your landing net? I haven't seen one with a dip on the front of the hoop like yours. It looks effective. BTW your videos are my number one go to for how the walleye bite is going on western lake erie. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment, as far as the handle goes i haven't got a clue who makes em. I bought it from somewhere about 25 or 30 years ago. Im gonna do some googling and maybe come up with a answer

@@TCSOUTDOORS Thanks for reply. I think it might be frabil. Its the hoop that's unique to me. I like the way it dips down in front. That helps surround the fish when you net it. Maybe its the same I see in ads but you use it upside down from what I see in ads. You two guys are funny because your partner has such a different personality. The combination of you two just works well on video. Go get em on lake erie.

I've tried netting up and down. As far as i can tell, when i net in the down position it seems better for me. I've seen fish get hung up on the front of the hoop in the up position. There's probably a utube vid on that very scenario of the best way to use it. Won't be long and I'll be getting a new one that thing is old and barely hanging on .

Hahahaha! didnt it stop rainin as soon as I got the boat home. By the time I got in, it took me an hour and half to shop vac the water out of my boat...lol

the last couple years yes but we are still big into crawler harnesses. around this time and all summer long we would run all harnesses in the years past. But recently no. Jigging is what i would like to do more of but every time someone wants to go fishing they wanna troll, so i just troll. Im ok with that too. Ill just watch you and others on utube jiggin away.

Jigging has its time and place, but more often than not, I believe trolling outproduces jigging.
