The best actress nominee speaks on what it was like bringing a skill that she loves to a skill she knew nothing about. #CateBlanchett #Tár #Hollywood #Oscar #Oscars #AcademyAward #actor #bestactress #ABCNEWS
In one of the parallel realties in EEAAO she does win the Oscar. She definitely deserved it. Oscars are rarely about who deserves it, it's a hell of lot of politics.
yeah man, Oscars was rife with politics on 12th march. EEAAO sweeped, just to show how oscars are failing to celebrate art and acting, awards should be based on merit and not some long career narrative. All 4 acting winners were awarded for their careers narrative. It’s unfortunate but Oscars have already lost relevance to art community as well. They are now Peoples choice awards 2.0
She deserves to win, absolutely, but I’m afraid that politics is going to give it to Yeoh, while whom I like, doesn’t begin to approach the brilliance of Blanchett here.
Yes Yeoh won and the only reason is because she is Asian and if she loses the whole world will say: only White people win an Oscar (which isn't right since so many years.)
Yeah, she was the right winner to be honest. I truly loved Michelle and congrats to her, made history yesterday, but Cate was the right winner. Anyways I don't think it matters at this point.
Cate is such a classy professional actress. She has proved herself to be at the level of actors such as Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis. And just like them, her acting greatness won’t always win since there’s lots of other factors such as bias and politics. Still her TÁR performance was one of the best of this decade.
Still can't believe she did not win that Oscar. Michelle Yeoh's performance was good but it didn't even get close to the level of complexity, subtlety, and depth of Cate's performance.
It was a performance of a genius. The best performance this year with no doubt and one of the best performances in the past years (and decades in my opinion). I loved Michelle and agree that her performance is worthy of an Oscar, but Cate was much better. Tár is a whole masterclass on acting
@@clarajoao3359 though I'm an Asian myself, even share the same ancestry and nation with Michelle yeoh, I sincerely thought Cate's performance was soooo much better
They made some wrong choices last night, and Austin Butler & Cate Blanchett should have won. They were both absolutely fantastic & gave such powerful performances. Yet welldone Michelle Yeoh ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have adored Cate Blanchett since Elizabeth (1999) but it was her performance in Blue Jasmine that secured her place for me as one of the greatest actresses of all time. That being said, I found her performance in Tar to be incredibly insincere and artificial. It came across as someone "playing a conductor". As someone who studied classical music at the conservatory level, I kept thinking to myself "is this how they really think people in this industry talk?" The entire film had a level of pretentiousness without authenticity that made it difficult to sit through. I am so glad that she did not win an Oscar for this performance because it was, in my humble opinion, one of her worst. Sad to say.
So, apparently we are not allowed to post a link to anything? do a search: All About Eve Is Still The Only Film To Achieve This Oscar Milestone and find the link. This will tell you a bit about the politics of the Oscars and how the most deserving doesn't always win.🏆
