The Caterham 420R is one of the fastest Caterham's you can currently buy (second only to the 620). With 210bhp through the rear wheels, the 420R is a savage 420bhp (ish) per tonne machine which will scare the life out of you. Caterham offer the 420R with a multitude of options, from different chassis sizes to LED headlight and even heated seats (in new models). How does the Caterham 420R do in the Music Motors test? A caterham is absolutely my dream car, and it has been for 10ish years. One of these days I'll get to drive one. I don't care what spec it is, what power option, anything. Luckily, they are starting to arrive here in the US of A, and maybe in a couple of years I might be able to get my hands on one.

Amazing. Are they arriving as imports or are there dealers etc? They’re great fun, though they’re tiny - so might not feel the safest when you’re stopped next to a big ole’ pickup rolling coal.

Best sportscar ever. Caterhams are truly amazing things, even after all the other sports cars that I’ve owned. Caterhams are THE benchmark for all performance cars. The visceral excitement & purity of driving a seven is unequalled.

Oh yes, finally! Saw you had this on Instagram, wondered when this was going to go up. Epic video as per usual, the 420r wouldn't be my choice of daily but good job anyway.

So much respect needed for such savage machines. Lower output models are probably a safer bet for less concentrated driving.

TomKentMusic I expect all of them are fun to drive but this and the 620 must put the biggest grin on your face although by the sound of it a change of trousers might be required 😂

Oh so many changes of trousers. Worth it though, 620 is a dry weather only car I think. I wanna try one of the Suzuki powered little engine ones next though.
