Another operator answering for him; No, between the motor and trans-axle / final drive units, there is no clutch. it's all hydraulic. The only clutches you'd "technically" have on a dozer like this, are the steering controls.
Nice video--is there an approximate hourly cost associated with running a machine like this, taking into account maintenance, fuel, wear, etc. Thanks for posting ;-)
soo, for someone who operates a wheel loader and sporadically small excavators with rotortilt (railroad work), how hard is it to operate a bulldozer? Seems more technical than I assumed, but would like to learn some if there comes an opportunity
Just about the easiest machines to operate, from the standpoint of learning curve, in my opinion. Like anything else, if you have the aptitude on the other machines, it'll just be another machine in your tool box, so to speak.
um obviously you have never ran a cat dozer. unlike a car the "Throttle pedal" called a decelerator reduces engine speed, the leaver above it sets a maximum limit and the foot pedal allows precises control. The reason for this is because you run a dozer at high rpm all day and to constantly push a pedal down would get tiresome so its easier to just depress the pedal when you want to slow down the engine.
