Any Video with Senior adding his insight is worth watching. He is THE MAN. Its as though you are the research ship exploring ocean mysteries while he is the Anchor.

What a magnificent tractor the RD6 is. I love how you can let the diesel warm and lubricate itself with the pony motor and the compression release deployed. Once you get the main engine where you want it, just add fuel and compression and off you go. Kind of the way you start a turbine engine in an airplane. Senior's comments after the tree was down lend a lot of insight into the process, particularly how he described that the green leaves would continue to pull water out of the trunk and limbs while it sits there for a while. No hurry to cut it up just yet. Good job.

You are some fine people. Feel like I just had a visit with a couple good friends. You guys have a bond (you and senior) that is unmistakably deep. Senior is really cool, really smart and you are walking very well into his foot steps. Love you guys good health and long life to you, senior and the TORQUE MONSTER! God bless be safe

I really appreciate the extra time spent setting up cameras and capturing you two working while haivng fun doing it. Who does not enjoy "playing tractors" as long as it is not as employment. I am always impressed by what looks like it is past its working days but still runs like new, thanks to the magic touch of a gifted mechanic. "I'm loving it."

A very enjoyable episode. The sound of the RD6 is so sweet, and Senior's ability to work a chain saw. You are both very fortunate. :-)

Watching your Cat pulling trees is why I came to this channel. Used to be a landscaper and pulled shrubs with my pickup truck. The Cat looks way more fun. Sure didn't have to work very hard on that old oak tree today.

Glad to see you using hearing protection, it will help you keep what hearing you have. I go to drag racing, and outlaw kart races and use protection to keep what I have at 69 years old!!!

I thought the same thing when I saw the ear muffs. I've been around loud equipment, tools, drag cars, etc. all my life. Now in my 60's I wish I would have used hearing protection. Can't hear higher pitches at all, can't carry on a conversation without saying "what" all the time. Anybody trying to protect their hearing gets a thumbs up from me.

We heat and eat here in Chile using Fire Wood. We spend a big part of our time sawing up trees that have fallen or needed to fall. We also make a lot of fence posts out of our trees. We use chain saws to make the posts and boy it is hard work. Nice job with the tree. I would love to have a little crawler like that here to help on the farm. Jim

Senior is waay more courageous than i with rotten trees. I usually line them and then use leverage to tension them in the direction i want to fall them before finally cutting them. Benefit of decades worth of experience i guess. :) Also, don't sweat it about slow progress. Creativity is a slow and steady process.

i watch many videos with people starting this equipment that are gas start . i can say i like the way you spend the real time in letting it warm up like it should. most not give it much warm up time like they are working with a di engine not a pre-cup engine that you have and are in the older equipment diesels

The RD6 did it again. Also good score with getting firewood out of that oak. The track press seems to be very interesting. I got to ask a old mechanic how did they deal with worn out track pins on the bigger CAT clones that have a similar setup track chain.

Did you use 5/8" wire rope & how long was your cable that you & your father drug off those stumps & fell the standing tree. Good video. I have a D4-7U cat dozer w/winch. I need to replace the rotten rusty 3/4" cable that is on the winch now with new or newer cable. What is your thoughts on 5/8" wire rope doing the tugging you guys were doing in your video. Thanks for the watch.

Ha ha what funny ppl we are. You're telling us to enjoy footage of an antiquated, obsolete machine pulling down a tree, and we do, lol! BTW what wheeled tractor is that sitting in the weeds on the right side of the screen? Will we be seeing it soon? 😉 P.S. I also own an antiquated, obsolete machine, though mine is a Farmall Super A. Your Farmall restoration can take the credit (or blame) for interesting me into buying such a thing! It has proved very useful mowing my acre lot, and pulling down trees and pulling out a stump after storms.
