Looking into getting the same lift but not sure if jus the base 7" or 9" for the extra money. Do ya have a list of what ya got, if ya dnt mind. Also any welding involved ?? Appreciate it in advance !
Only small welding for a filler plate and i just bought the 7” kit. Its an adjustable 7-9”. To set it at 9” you have to buy leveling keys and add rear add a leaf. Preciate the question. Lmk if you have any more!
I’m pretty sure these are the part numbers. Rear shocks are 7-9” fox 2.0 with external resi. Part number 980-24-960. Front shocks are slightly different. On the cateyes you have to use an adapter bracket on the front shocks from tuff country. Adapter bracket part number - 10964 Front shock is a fox 2.0 external resi for 4-6” lift. Shorter shock to accommodate for the adapter bracket used. Part number - 980-240-961. Hope this helps!
hey man! Please answer this if you have time, what type of keys do you have in your pickup? When I install my keys the keys either sit WAY to low where I can pull them all the way up or they sit way to high up where I only have to use the torsion bar tool to push them up a bit over 2” so my front end is sitting way to low right now bc of it, I am thinking it’s my keys, are those stock keys? Or are those mcguagys keys?
These are rough country keys but basically the same as any 2” leveling key. When you install your keys you will always have to use the torsion key tool to get them in the right position. Also make sure that when you install them the front end of the truck is jacked up with no weight on the control arms.
@@6.0burnseyyeah man it’s hard to describe but so for mine the keys can only angle ALL the way down, where the bar tool can’t even hook on it, and if it does you can’t get the key all the way up so that’s out of the option, OR the only other position I could do was set them where I used the tool to only push up the keys like 2” and boom it’s set like that , only diffrent from my and your kit is that I have moog lower control arms and ofc I don’t have those rough country keys
@@6.0burnseysorry for the late response man, but yes they are side specific and I took them out to make sure they were in the right spot and they are! So I ordered RC keys and imma see if my keys are the problem
Hey man. I had to use a tuff country shock relocation bracket. Part number 10964 and the fox shocks are actually for a 2500 but the front is a 4-6” lift shock because the relocations takes up an inch or two. Front shock part number is 980-24-960. Rear is 980-24-957. Thanks for the question and hope I helped!
Dude I’m installing mine need some help you got snap ??? Your the only vid on RU-vid that shows the torsion bar install going from rough country to mcgaughys lmk if u can help
@@jackson9466 its been a while but i think i had to same issue. I believe we got short castle nuts to put on the bottom of the ball joint so that we could get the cotter pin in
I can’t guarantee you that all of them will but i know their hubs and tie rods will. If you buy the full tie rods and sleeves you do have to cut the sleeves down some for them to fit right. Or at least i did. I would just do some searching and maybe call them. They could definitely tell you. 👍
@@6.0burnsey well I bought the upper control arm ball joint set off custom offsets do you have a clue if the balls joints in the kit fit that knuckle or do you have to buy a different size like the tie rods?
@@6.0burnsey Autotrac is. Like an auto all wheel drive. It is the top pushbutton on the dash area for the transfer case. Also the driveshaft spins all the time.
@@jorgeverduzco3395 yessir. Norcal was done when the truck was leveled on 33s. I’m running 2 inch spacers now with this setup and it would definitely dig into my fender if I went full lock either direction.
Hey man. I appreciate the info. You would be correct if my lift was set at 8-9 inches. When the lift is set on the lower end (7-7 3/4”) the ball joint is supposed to be installed through the top. Got it all from the install instructions from cognito. Thanks for looking out for me though.
