I watched almost every RU-vid video about catfish on RU-vid and this by far has some of the most detailed valuable information. I don’t see how this don’t have 1 million views.
Thank you very much Mr. Douglas and thank you for this amazing opportunity and for being a great mentor! I hope someday I can inspire other as you have inspired me!!!
This video is OUTSTANDING! It not only lists the rigs but details the setup...and what makes it fabulous is the application of each rig in an actual setting (out in the water so to speak). Very well-put-together video and narrated perfectly!
Legit, one of the BEST educational videos I've ever seen. Well organize, good demonstrations, easy to understand graphics. Just everything about this video is perfect. And probably the best part is it's 20 minutes of ACTUAL information and not fluff. Thank you so much!
I don't know how this video doesn't have 300,000 views. Absolutely amazing job putting this all together in one video. Underwater camera took this to the next level. So helpful
Brother this has got to be up for a Oscar! Most informative content that “explains, shows and demonstrates” , “what to do, when to do and why you do it!” I am a catfisher and this was most informative for me so that it explains new and current techniques used in fishing for a certain species of fish. I have always rigged everything I cast “ Hi-Lo” bass, walleye and catfish. Not always catching. But I specifically want to hunt for catfish and this video was top notch! Just bought complete WiskerSeeker gear. Pole, line, hooks, rattles, beads, floats. Ready to tame a large wild Cat!
This was a great illustration. I didn't so much learn anything new, as I am not new to catfishing, but 20 years ago I could have really used this. The tank clips were an amazing touch though. I often cast, and wonder if the rig is working the way I want it to. That was a great addition, and a perfect way to stand out from all the other "how to" videos out there. I am 100% forwarding this to some friends.
Being a born again catfisher, 22 years removed, I can appreciate the demonstrations and illustrations here. Always learning. It's getting cold and I'm struggling so the hi-lo it is next time out.
I’ve always used a Carolina rig for cats and it works ok but I was always worried about the bait just laying in the mud or buried in the weeds and not really doing anything , after seeing the Santee rig and how it floats the bait off the bottom I think I’ve found a new way to set up for catfish ,,,, Thanks for the demo and the time you put into this video …….
Excellent video. I learned a few things due to your simple explanations. I have had questions concerning rigs and was to afraid to ask because I didn't want to be laughed at. Thank you for this.
Between the descriptions, diagrams, and live examples complete with your opinions and insights, this is one of the best instructional fishing videos. Wishing you success in all your endeavors.
the slip bobber rig is basically just catfishing with a float or bobber!! works really good floating down the river with or without current works good in eddies if bank fishing!! the Santee cooper rig impresses me the most you would think the float might keep the catfish from biting but dose not and keeps your bait off the bottom and catfish are often deep but despite what people say catfish usually bite off the bottom not directly on the bottom nice little rig so many ways you can modify the way you fish for the results you are looking for takes time and patience most of the time but you can get there if you don't give up !!
What an AWESOME video on cat fishing. Best details EVER! The illustrations really make it all connect! Thank You For This information, I will share this with all of my fishing friends.
Dude zebco omniflex line is so underrated and overlooked. It's cheap yes, but it's all I use besides Berkeley big game line. It gets the job done and it is strong too.
Thank you very much Mr. Flores! I am honored to have your support sir, you're definitely a catfish legend!!! Kindly appreciate your support and thank you for watching sir!!!
Cecil, thank you for the very informative explanation of each type of rig and seeing how each reacts under water. I learned a lot from watching your video!
Hello Cecil I've been watching your channel since you started and I don't understand why your channel hasn't made it to 100k yet. You've come a long way and with this graphics on this video is top notch. Hang in there Cecil you'll get there. Have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
I use a 18" to 24" leader with a bobber at the very end. The hook in the middle of the leader with a Carolina rig setup for walleye. Keeps the bait out of the rocks and he feels no tension on the line when it hits the bait.
Thank you so much, sinker slide genius! You’ve taught me something new and useful . The diagrams are extremely helpful and make the process easy to pickup .
This was the best explained video I've ever seen. It was both comprehensive, and simplistic. That's very unusual to pull off simultaneously in a single video.👊🏾🔥🔥🔥
Great video! I didn't so much need the myself as I've been fishing for prolly 39 years. This video would have gotten someone, who wasn't as fortunate as I was, but interested in catfishing out on the water. Fantastic job, we need more sportsman out there nowadays.
I live in north east pa and the only thing we need is a hook a weight and chicken liver lol. It works better than any thing. We don’t have flatheads or blues so maybe that’s the difference. I really wanna take a trip for flatheads and blues so I’ll keep this stuff in mind. This is one of the best showings of rigs and how they look and work underwater I’ve ever seen.
Love this video! Very in depth and explained perfectly. I'm just getting into catfish after 15+ years of fishing and this is by far the best video describing different rigs that I've found. Keep up the good work!
I'm a bank fisher. I was using the Santee Cooper rig for a while, but I was having a lot of problems gut hooking fish due to the slack the float adds in the line. It's a rig designed for trolling, so that extra slack doesn't matter so much in that situation. I changed it up and did my own twist on it, using a snell drop shot, or a dropper loop drop shot, with the float over that on the leader. Basically your hi-low rig, but with one hook. I have a more immediate connection to the hook that way, and since I changed to those, I've yet to gut hook a fish.
Great video man, I like the way you presented the information. As a bass/trout fisherman, catfish is somewhat foreign to me. Even being in Texas. Thanks for the video! Gonna test it all out this weekend. Tight lines brother!
Thanks Brother for this Video !! I'm New to Fishing So when I watch videos on RU-vid .. I have No clue what there Talking about ... But Your video is Very Informative and Simplifies Catfishing All together .. Thanks for breaking everything down For NEW fisherman ...
