I hear this song in a dream almost 20 years ago, so I woke up, i was confused, then I listened to this one on the radio, I used to record the metal radio shows, and i got it but I didn't know the name. Today I was listening to all the metal music cassettes to remember, as we are in the future i got the shazam app from my cell phone and it's wonderful to listend to this song after 18 years. Amazing, greetings from Ecuador for all of you
Fountain of youth, life spirit flows Into a well of truths, of cold and dim repose. I craved to be as high as the pillowy clouds, To walk amongst the tall, who used to look back down and frown. Now here I stand by the wasteland, where our dreams began. From these once golden fields our curiosity ran... I chased the sugar claw through temptation's door, The bitterness I found...sweetness I taste no more From the play ground to the slay ground, The sombre middle ground absords the emptiness. Look back across the marble sea of discovery, A fountain of innocent flows in juvenescence. I'm resident in corridors of sentiment. I face the wall - discovery terminal, But there's no more false truths I wish to discover, And I am physically unable, to tread back down those corridors. Fountain of youth, oh how I bathed in your innocence, And now in cold repose, I must face the bitter truth...
Yep , I put both these albums side by side and I see they are kinda different , but the real difference appears when you put side by side "Carnival Bizarre" and "Forest of Equilibrium" . Cathedral progressed on a Stoner Metal direction abandoning most of the "Doom Metal" Elements only to recover ' em on "Endytime" , released in 2001 ...
Their best. I know a lot of people wanted Forest 2, but they took slow practically as far as it could go with that one. They had to branch out. And it paid off.
the 12-string bridge is so ethereally badazz, the chord change!! Agreed, this whole album shoulda been bigger when it came out. First heard Jaded Entity on a late night metal show & said holy fuck & bought the cd the next day.
Am I crazy or did Cathedral inspire the super slow funeral doom genre with the intro to "Enter the Worms" and "Ride", and was Cathedral the first to incorporate 60/70's horror movie clips and samples into doom metal??
