The reason Beyonce not getting album of the year is because she has NEVER gotten it with all the albums she has put out. She has changed the landscape of creating albums, releasing music etc and she’s won in certain categories that acknowledge her but NEVER AOTY. Which partly has to do with who the label promotes for AOTY (they can only push one per label). Taylor has 7 AOTY. It doesn’t make sense BECAUSE they are very similarly accoladed (not saying Taylor doesn’t deserve, just an example). Black ppl know that if Beyoncé were white I think we can all rest assured she’d very likely have at least one. No one can honestly say she has NEVER deserved that award just looking at how the Grammys has applauded her work. I’m no stan but it’s frustrating when ppl misunderstand genuine critique of black women getting overlooked among their peers as pouting over not getting a trophy. It goes hand in hand w rap still not being a televised category despite its popularity and impact. Not even calling it racism just saying it’s a disparity for sure
